With the current release date set at a vague "2020", it could be as long as 10 months until we finally get to play SoR4. In the meantime, there are still plenty of good, modern side-scrolling beat'em ups available:

While it's frustrating having to wait, I'm glad that the developers don't appear to be under any time constraints or deadlines. They seem like a small team doing their own passion project, rather than just some company being tasked with developing a game by a big publisher.
