So apparently you can find Xiao, Keqing, and Qiqi during the new archon quest.
Xiao was the easiest since the game highlights him during the search for subrosium (pity the writers who have to keep coming up with names for the one-off ores for these events). Keqing is in Guyun area setting up ballistas for defense and you can speak to her before and after the boss fight.
I totally missed Qiqi, I thought the game hinted that she would be around the Jade Chamber construction site, but she's setup near the south docks not far from the blacksmith. I should have spotted her, but oh well.
I thought this was one of the better produced stories, although the writing still suffers from the game always explaining everything to you. It also continues the GI story tradition of having at least one moment during a serious scene where you wish Paimon would STFU.
Not sure why it was an archon quest; it felt more like a character story on steroids, but I guess the Jade chamber getting rebuild cold play into the main story down the road.
For the discussion on the last page, I agree that Shenhe's kit does not match her character story at all. Her burst should have been like a limited release of the red ropes where she enters a berserk state as a DPS, or something. Her being cyro support has only led to redditors posting Ganyu one-shot videos.

I missed her too. I didn't have any reason to assume she'd be there at the time. I wish they'd always have characters appear randomly in the world. Would make it feel more alive. Anyway, I looked up the dialogue online. Makes me wonder why Ningguang even thought of using Qiqi for this purpose.
My only issue with the writing is that Shenhe's backstory has apparently passed into legend. I don't know how old Shenhe is, but I'm assuming somewhere in her twenties? so the events from her childhood took place 20 years ago. That's not very long. Too short to become a popular legend. They do this pretty often where the timeline doesn't make sense.

Finished it. Enjoyed it and glad it was paced better than rushing through it like Liyue/Part of Inazuma. Good portrayal of Shenhe's character and continuation of the Liyue story. I don't understand why they didn't use this chance to feature Ganyu more though, but I'm assuming she (and Xiao?) has a bigger part to play in the Lantern Rite. Paimon really needs to stop speaking for us or interrupting others since it's getting annoying and assumes the player is an idiot. Also, the new arrange of the Osial theme was great.
I hope they do these Archon Interludes for all regions that covers continuing stories. Inazuma could definitely use it with its world building.

Well shit, here I was proud of myself for finding Keqing before the battle, Xiao was obvious but I loved how they used them to build up the sense that something big was about to happen. I had no idea about Qiqi, missed her entirely. Where can you view her dialogue?

New event is a breeze. That doublespeak speech in the beginning...I was in tears OMG. UP DOWN UP DOWN... xD Pure gold.
Got 17k in the 1st run. Turns out it had some hidden challenges too. Fortunately I did em all without even knowing about them.
Definitely not gonna bother with 18k mark tho. They're not giving us any profile wallpapers for it anymore, so why bother?
Besides, not like I ever gonna stop using Baal's eye...

Ningguang is unsufferable ("Oh, I'm so great! My insight is worth so much!") and her hangout beginning is preposterous as fuck. Why the fuck would I want to be her lackey?

Ah yeah, she isn't too bad. I don't really remember her hangout except that I liked it. I just can't stand anymore the "a pirate that never do anything remotely pirate-y, ever" trope (yes, I read One Piece).
I'd really like to build her, then I think about arti farming and resource costs and eeeeeeeh... no. And I throw her in the pile with Mona and Xinghei.

Well keep in mind this the Chinese version of pirates, not the western world version. They are more smugglers of illicit goods than high seas canon battles and boarding/commandeering rival ships, which they did feature as a large portion of one of her quest trees.
CN pirates are more famous for opium and human trafficking than the stereotypical stuff like Blackbeard etc.

Great skins... Other than that...Damn, what a difference in quality between it and GI. Everything looks so sterile and dead. It has the same cheap look of B tier jp games.
I wonder if they'll ever make a sequel to it on GI scale.
How about its story? Is it anywhere close to conclusion? Or it still makes enough money so they'll keep it around for years?

They made the game like 6 years ago, and have made a number of improvements since then, but yea, it's dated by Genshin standards. Runs pretty well on even mid-tier phones though which is probably important considering it's a niche game and mobile is very popular as a platform in the east.
The "main" story has been culminating for like 3 updates now, a lot of longtime questions are being answered chapter after chapter, but they are definitely dragging it on a bit. Right now, CN (the furthest ahead server) is running patch 5.6, I'm guessing the main story ends at 5.9 or wherever they choose to end the 5.X stuff. Global is a patch behind at all times, which is nice to kinda plan out events/rewards/gacha.
They also have a few different storylines and a mode with 2 chapters (as of the upcoming patch next week) that details what happens after the "main" story ends, so it definitely has an ending in mind and is slowly driving towards it. This mode is semi-open world and has a bunch of traversal options like DmC. It also has Aerial combat for all characters, where the main part of the game only has 2-3 characters that can use it.
I could see them splitting that off into a sequel or a new game or something.

Yes APHO2 looks amazing and that being it's own game is probably what they are going to do after they finish up the main story and star rail is well under way.

Just tried that new potions event, got 17k on my first run before I understood the rules. Not gonna bother to do it again for 6 ore, otherwise got all the rewards.
Looks like $ony went the extra mile to make sure you can't claim your BP rewards on PS4/PS5 if you bought them on the PC or mobile client, just to be catty little pissants. It's not bad enough that the game de-equips the Wings of Descension if I even load the game on another platform, now they have to make sure I don't have the "pleasure" of accepting rewards for something I paid for unless I buy it on PSN™

Also, anybody know how we play these? They seem to be new items that are records for specific OST songs. I found them in the Tubby shops, and you can buy them from friends' Tubby too. But I couldn't find any piece of furniture that could play them. I tried the record player we got from the islands event, and the harp from the anni.
Also, Ying'er sure is laying on the innuendo thick for the new event quest. Still the best NPC.

Same here. I was just messing around with the trial characters. I think I chose the challenges in the wrong order. I had to beat a ton of tough enemies for the last two.
What a petty bunch they are. Sad.
There's two new pieces of furniture that you can buy from Tubby. I think it's in Riches of the Realm or something? I dunno, just go down the list. They kinda look like vases. To be clear: they're not blueprints. They're 300 each.
I broke down and went for Shenhe anyway. There's nothing else coming up that I'd want to pull for, and she'll probably be a decent support for Ganyu. I don't play this game with the highest efficiency anyway, it's more important that I like the character. Since she's looking kinda unpopular, maybe they'll make a good arti set for her like they did for Kokomi. She came at wish 67 and I have enough for four more 5 stars, so I'm set for the future regardless. I got two Yun Jins and a bunch of Ningguangs (unfortunately). Can't complain though.

Yea I didn't realize you couldn't use 1 party for all 4 floors, and then I didn't realize the character cooldown only lasts 1 floor, so I ended up picking a shitty team for my 2nd floor. In reality, you only need 2 strong teams to beat this event easily, alternating and picking the floors with the hardest enemies first. I understand it better for the the next round.

She's not great if I'm being honest. I liked her design and character, but I don't even like her so far with Ganyu. Her buff isn't big enough to make a huge difference for the charge attacks. Like the damage increase is there, but Ganyu does so much damage per charge attack, it's kinda miniscule in the grand scheme. It's not like I can kill things in 1 charged shot now that I could take down in 2 before or anything like that. Maybe if you built Ganyu for elemental burst spam, it'd be better?
I dunno, I could see a case for Ayaka mains or for crit fishing Youtubers looking to get views on their latest "this changes EVERYTHING" video. I haven't found a team that makes good use of her yet though. I feel like the Physical/Cryo shred should have at least been 20% like Zhongli's shield, not 15%. Really though, I was hoping she would be a main dps and that's just impossible if you don't want to hugely gimp yourself.
After I get her to 90 I plan on giving her my Rosaria gear 1:1 and see if she can even beat that. Not likely, I'm imagining. Despite her having 5* character stats, her auto attacks are so damn slow and clunky for a spear character, and the elemental skill cooldown sucks. Crescent Pike really incentivizes using fast attackers like phys Xiangling or Rosaria with the way the passive works.

The event is so lame, they should not run it right after the amplifier event from 2.3. It's basically beating up a couple of mobs, but they have to dress it up with all this faux strategy window dressing.
I also cleared all the primogem rewards on the first go. As usual, the rewards for completing it at the highest score are pathetic, at least throw some big chunks of mora for the maxing the score.
Yes, the two new pieces of furniture are for the discs, one for inside your house and one for outside.

I can't get a feel for her right now since I lack cryo DPS chars. I'm running her with Keqing and Yun Jin in a copium (but fun) phys team. Shenhe's probably mediocre, but my choice for supports is quite limited since I don't use the guys. Everyone compares her to Bennett and Kazuha, but I stubbornly refuse to use those. I just hope her tiny bit of dmg increase is enough to improve my performance in the Abyss.
Smaller, fast hitting attacks don't synergize well with the Icy Quills due to their limited procs. This is one of Shenhe's issues but also of Genshin in general. Elemental reactions take time to set up and trigger, so doing big nuke damage with one hit is way better than a thousand small cuts. It's why Keqing is weak. AoE doesn't work that well with Icy Quills either, since you can't choose which enemy gets hit with the buff. It's like they didn't want us to use her with Ganyu. Shenhe's support is quite complicated since there's many buffs and debuffs going on at the same time, so maybe I'm missing something.
She should have had a way to infuse her basic attacks with cryo and slightly better scaling. I don't think that would've made her OP, what with Ganyu and Ayaka existing. It's a shame they keep making their characters so one dimensional. It's much more interesting when they can be put in different roles.

Theres an item that looks like a vase(theres 2 versions from what I remember). You can't put on your house though, I think you can only put outside.
