There is something I notice about people defending the new Halo, they tend to say "It's really FUN", instead of just saying it's good, a classic indication that they are in denial (people always defend co-op games saying they are "really fun if you play with your friends" regardless of the quality of the games).

This Halo will likely go down as the most hated one in the series and pretty much what buried the series.

I won't even comment on the narrative of pretending it was the GoTY, it's even worse than the PoTY narrative.

I can’t get over the fact that you think the FFXV episodes were sold as DLC because they ran out of time to put them in the main game. Halo, and any other arena shooter for that matter, simply has no place in modern time and age. It is said Infinite is supposed to be a 10 year plan, but how on earth are 343 expecting people to run for 10 year with the same single gun over and over and over is beyond me.

And Yes i played XV maybe even before you, i played it days before the oficial release, without the Day 1 patch and the game was finished, sure a few unpolished bugs but the game have TON of content and was finished, and a year after got dlc to see the story of your other party members, not noctis

In Halo Infinite you cant even replay a mission, doing something so basic like change spartab color is imposible, and for a "LIVE SERVICE" for an arena MP having in a year less then 10 maps is a joke

XV has its flaws, but it can still be highly enjoyed. It has a wide variety of characters, great character moments, excellent sound design, beautiful art design, and was very well paced up until the point in the narrative that it railroads you.

Meanwhile Infinite is an insult to fans and the franchise as a whole. It has almost zero memorable plot, characters, or “set piece” moments. It has one single biome that is incredibly bland. The entire open world aspect was essentially just an Ubisoft open world with zero unique aspects. The MP was fucking atrocious, with the least amount of customization the series has *ever* seen and constantly nickle and diming you for every little thing that you used to get as a complete package in the earlier entries.

But the same sad little console warriors like Ozzy and co will come out of the wood work to defend this crap and 343i instead of pushing for better quality in future releases. Sad, pathetic, and they are the reason we keep getting worse and worse titles in what once was one of the greatest FPS franchises of all time. Aside from one mentally ill person (D.Final), there were little to no that actively defended *every* little thing about FFXV. They could find enjoyment out of the title and still openly criticize the faults of the title and push for stronger, better products in the future. If only these little console warriors would actually do the same.

Games decent enough. Solid campaign, decent mp. Shit live service game that lacks updates and features.

Look when the game released. It was praised by fans right off the bat. Check here, Reddit, reviews, era etc. 90% of complaints are from lack of updates that’s it.

Yes infinite is awesome. I still play regularly. The gameplay loop is top notch.

Which AAA games offer more content? Full MP and a big single player experience? Both being good to great.

Right now, Halo Infinite gameplay speaks for itself.

I think that Gears took over Halo a long time ago and neither has released a really culturally relevant title in a very long time (however gears is definitely way better).

Gears never really clicked with me, I've played through most of them, the first being the best. But the multiplayer just never really floated my boat for some reason, on paper i should love it but i dunno something about the aiming just never did it for me.

On the other hand of the recent Halo's the only one that I actively disliked 100% was 4. Reach had a decent SP but trash MP, 5 the opposite. Infinite gets so so close to nailing both but just falls short in a few key areas at the minute, but hopefully with a few more maps and a campaign expansion I think it will end up being right up there.

As it stands i'd put it above Reach in my tier list but below Bungies best efforts at the time.

Yeah its a big ask, yet they seem to have made the same mistake with Perfect Dark as well. Hopefully that turn out well. Although looks like Staten is trying to get a few of the old Halo staffers from the Bungie days back on board, I think the futures bright for Halo myself.

Even though I dislike 4 I thought it was impressive they got something out of the door when they did. You look at new studios these days and it takes way longer.

I said this from the very beginning, the gameplay is great, but the multiplayer aspect won't last.

The game NEEDS a BR mode or even better some form of DMZ like Escape from Tarkov. They don't need to replace the core MP with those two, but they need to have them as an option, just like CoD, where you can see that the MP aspect fades away but the BR mode keeps a decent player count compared to the standard multiplayer.

The problem with Halo is that MS just doesn't care enough about the franchise beyond its ability to generate cash (either directly or through GamePass).

Halo has become a vehicle for MS's commercial interests, instead of a valued multi-media IP with a carefully controlled, living, breathing lore.

The Halo TV series really made this clear. That abortion was such a fucking slap in the face to Halo fans, the only way one might surmise that MS could greenlight such horseshit is if they actually didn't give a fuck about Halo at all. It's the only logical conclusion.

They've treated the IP like a 20-cent whore that they're willing to pimp out to anyone for a quick dollar. If it serves their commercial interests, who cares if the games are shit quality. Halo 5 started the microtransaction on MP, and they removed Big Team battle to make warzone, a P2W Mode, and the progresión was a pw2 gatcha too

I don't get the comparison to Sonic, but personally I think Halo Infinite is a good game. It could be great if this "live service" stuff would live up to its billing and deliver more content.
