I'm expecting Housemarque to announce and release its project next year, Intergalactic gameplay at SGF, Wolverine at TGA, Horizon 3 and Gran Turismo 8 announced at some point of the year, Lost Soul Aside, Convallaria, DS2 and Ghost of Yotei at a January or February State of Play, and some XDEV collabs with short announcement-to-release time frames (give me Yuunama already!).
Also most likely DLC for Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade, and I REALLY want a new smaller SIE Team Asobi game for 2025.
Oh, and a TGS booth as well.

They should have a pretty stellar year, but when do they don't at this point. Couple of titles meant to drop in 2025 they haven't announced yet that i'm really looking forward to. Then theres the looming monster of GTA6 and how its perfectly positioned to move more Playstations in a year than has ever been moved in history.

Some years ago, I might have thought the same about a one project team like them – especially if my theory about what their new IP is turns out to be correct, as it would mean that it is much more far along than we imagine – but looking at how much time everything seems to take this generation, I'm cooling my expectations in that regard.

2025: Death Stranding 2 – Ghost of Yotei – Marathon – Horizon Online – FAIRGAME$ – Until Dawn 2 – Venom
2026/7: Intergalactic – Wolverine – Gran Turismo 8 – Horizon III – Naughty Dog #2 – Santa Monica – FromSoftware – Housemarque – Bend – MediaMolecule – XDEV stuff

GTA 6 aside for me 2025 looks to be a weaker year than 2024 based of current releases. But it should still be a half decent year for gaming.

They will continue to dominate the market.
Games like Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei and GTA6 will define the year.
GTA6 will get Playstation holiday bundles, especially the Pro that could get a price cut.
A few surprises will be announced and released like Astrobot this year.
Microsoft will open the floodgates on all the PS5 ports they have been working on including iconic Xbox names like Forza.

Eh, I don't think Venom is a thing. More recent documents from that leak put it as a 2027 release, and I just believe that it's not even still in development at this point.
You forgot Lost Soul Aside and Convallaria, and also Returnal was released in 4/21, so Housemarque's new IP can release over 4 years after it and *still* be for 2025.

I hadn't seen the Insomniac roadmap from November 2023 that put Venom as a 2027 game in between Wolverine and Spider-Man 3, but now I found it. Really interesting shake of events.

Regarding Housemarque, I guess everything is possible depending on the complexity of their current project. Personally, believe that their new IP is the same third-person sci-fi RPG we've come to refer to as Ooze, which was leaked by DuskGolem two years ago, when he also remarked that it was relatively far along back then - as he was surprised about the soundtrack being or having been recorded already.

Now, I know you might be thinking that they couldn't be the same project, because Ooze was reportedly an XDEV Europe endeavor; but the thing is that months after that initial leak, Dusk clarified privately on his Discord server that, while Ooze began life as a collaboration with what once was an external European developer, the game was now an internal PS Studios title, as in its developer having been brought into The Family™.

Bear in mind that the Ooze asset leak came at around the same time as Dusk's disclosure of an old, internal trailer of sorts for Helldivers 2, another XDEV adjacent title; and he also was responsible for leaking the XDEV document that had references to DS2, Ronin and HZD Remastered, among others, in it. So it is likely to think that Dusk might had become privy to old XDEV related materials and that Ooze's status as an externally developed title was obsolete by the time the leak happened due to the Housemarque acquisition, hence Dusk's later clarification about it being an internal effort.

Ooze was also being powered by Unreal Engine, which is what Housemarque utilized on Returnal, and looking back at how quick the studio were to confirm that they were working on a new IP - March 2022, via PS Blog - following the release of their latest title, that suggests to me that they might have had Ooze cooking in the background for quite some time; similarly to how Returnal was first conceived in the summer of 2015, predating launch of Alienation (2016), Nex Machina (2017) and Matterfall (2017).

Which is all to say that perhaps a third-person RPG might take just a little more time to get out the door, especially now that they're expected to take greater advantage of the PS5 from a graphical standpoint with their second title on the system.

Pretty well made post, didn't consider all of that or even know about Dusk Golem confirming that Project Ouze was an internal SIEE project. 🤔
That said, I want to address certain things...

Helldivers 2 isn't actually a XDEV game! I used to thought it was a XDEV America project (and yes, SIEA handles the series instead of SIEE, despite Arrowhead being an European studio), but instead it's coming from the Product Development Department (or as we used to know them, San Mateo Studio) at PlayStation Studios America.
PDD/SMS's job is to produce those games developed by SIEA's subsidiaries (such as The Last of Us Part I and Spider-Man 2), so why did they handle Helldivers 2? Well, you may remember about San Mateo Studio producing externally-developed games like Ratchet & Clank (2016) and Spider-Man (2018) in the past, so looking at how Helldivers 2 started development in 2016, it then all makes sense.
and he also was responsible for leaking the XDEV document that had references to DS2, Ronin and HZD Remastered, among others, in it.
I wouldn't be so sure about that being a XDEV document, since it actually had information about Guerrilla's projects and such. I think that it would be a mistake to speculate on it being from a studio in particular, and not look at SIE's entire organization for bigger suspects.
I personally believe that it came from the Visual Arts or QA departments within SIEE.

Nothing except Ghost of Yotei. Death Stranding 2 shouldn’t be mentioned because it’s not a 1st-party studio effort. PlayStation has been very bad as of late IMO.
I think DS2 is PS5 timed exclusive, so while not first party I’d consider it a “PlayStation 2025” game.

I agree that PlayStation first party is a fuckin’ ghost town though. Not looking great.

Very good clarifications on your behalf, which upon closer inspection, might be right on the money.

The way the document lists UK-based engineers providing aid to both internal and external studios, across a wide net of projects ranging from in-house PS Studios productions to proper XDEV games, and everything in between (namely the complex publishing arrangement around Rise of the Ronin), actually suggests to me that the it comes from an European, UK-based, branch of Sony's worldwide support infrastructure, rather than my initial thought around it being an XDEV document.

Very interesting. If anything, I'm surprised that more things didn't leak back then, given the access Dusk's source seems to have had to the wider portfolio of PS Studios titles.

Buncha bullshit.

Ghost of Creativity and Sleep Stranding 2 will not suffice. Only thing on their calendar I care to see more of at this point is Wolverine, and unless that's had a creative overhaul, my enthusiasm won't be as high as it should be. Intergalactic is an incoming mess, and the cutting edge isn't PlayStation's territory anymore despite selling a console for 700 bucks. The PS5's power hasn't been even close to fully utilized, 4 fucking years into the gen.

This gen is cooked. They need to fire Hulst and Totoki and start the restructuring going into the PS6 ASAP. Please, let the Switch 2 eat into the PS5.
