I'm itching for indie games. Any recommendations?

It seems like everyone has your survival needs covered. So I’ll go in a different direction.

Iron Meat

It’s a new Contra-like. 9 levels, 3 difficulties, unlockable skins, full trophy/achievement sets if you’re into that, a damn good OST, and pretty good controls. My biggest gripe is the uselessness of most gun upgrades. Two of them outshine the rest. The devs are active on their Discord, and there are plans for DLC and a sequel.

A few others to maybe check out that I truly love.

Alto’s Adventure
Omega Strike
Donut County
One Finger Death Punch
One Finger Death Punch 2

There's been a lot of indie games mentioned in this thread I would have posted myself (Selaco, Brigador, Severed Steel, to name a few). I'm going to mention Starsector, an indie game that's not on Steam. Note: This is currently in an Early Access state. Started playing it again recently. Plays something like Mount & Blade in space, but that doesn't cover enough of what you can do. There's so many things you can do in this game, that I'm just going to post SsethTzeentach's review of it, because he covers the appeal of the game very well.

Also, the game is only $15 right now. Easy recommend, even in its current state.

One extremely good indie that I always recommend is AtomRPG and Atom Trudograd. They are both incredible games if you like Stalker/Fallout

That game is awesome, especially with mods

What do you mean even in its current state? Is the current patch not balanced well?

Made that post late in the night (now updated) and failed to mention that Starsector has been in development for a long time - since 2011 - and is still getting updates.

Also forgot to mention that the game has an active modding community, with mods that add simple features like speeding up the game, or totally converts the setting to something else entirely.

Do you like WipEout? Would you like the closest thing to a new WipEout game on your PC? Play ballisticNG.
One look at this trailer, and you know what it's all about.

Notable features include Mod Support (custom liveries, HUDs, tracks, etc.) and Custom Soundtracks.
Yes, you too, can grab all of the music across the WipEout series and have that play alongside the game's OST, which is pretty good on its own.

  • An 'action roguelike' or 'survivors' game, basically Diablo Survivors
I'm basically done with this. Just need one more quest. Thanks for the suggestion!

Still trying out everyone's recommendation though.

Awesome. That probably means you spent a lot of time on the game in a short period.

If you like this type of game, these are some quality titles: Picayune, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor (just got a big content patch today) and 20 Minutes Till Dawn.

Thanks again! I’m glad the games you have suggested are out of early access. Those are fine but always left me feel wanting because there’s no end.
