INDIANA JONES New Egypt Gameplay Demo

Indiana Jones, Riddick, and Wolfenstein… find the odd one out there… ;).
Well, I think Indy game should be 3rd person but honestly I don't have a problem with 1st person, if its done right - those games show it can be done. Even if its more adventurous game, less gorey.

But comments about rough gameplay don't give me that impression. Still at work so can't really watch anything...

FIFA, PES, Indy… I do not have a problem with Indiana Jones being a football simulation, if it’s done right - those games show it can be done.

I see Indy in a similar scenario when we compare it to Riddick or Wolfenstein, that is the point I was trying to make when I said “spot the odd one out” ;).

Still worried about barely any fighting shown. Looked Skyrim level with that fist fight which is not what you should try and emulate in 2024.

You are trying way too hard.

Indi in first person is expected if it’s im-sim in design.

A lot of developers consider that important if its im sim. (I dont, but I haven’t played many 3rd person im sims either)

This looks better than I though it did from the trailers. The fan of the first three movies in me wants to play this real bad. Also, fps perspective seems totally right for this.

Just so many terrible decisions went into this. First person neuters the combat possibilities. This game’s combat should have been a hybrid of Batman + Spider-Man where you can take on multiple enemies at once and do a lot of sick and stylish combos

If the puzzles are good and the AI isn't retarded then this could be great.

Tall order though.

Graphics and setting as well as voices sound/look great, just like Indy.

The 1st person vs 3rd, I respect they have tried something different but feel as it's Indiana Jones they have missed the mark with perception of the brand. It does scream Uncharted clone needed.

Like others have said it's a hard task to pull this off so we shall see.
I can't wait though and hope it's a solid 80+ game.

I'm just not feeling it. Doesn't look horrible by any means but it just doesn't look like a 85+ metacritic game. Also the nostril breathing audio loop when he is trying to be stealthy is annoying.

I hope they will release a demo of this to the public. It might help push me, and others, to buying it depending on how it actually feels to play it.

Looks pretty good for immersive exploration and puzzle solving, but not convinced about combat and stealth gameplay. That could get annoying.
I haven't seen puzzle solving.

Visually it looks good, gameplay kinda seems repetitive. Maybe they have these big Uncharted moments they haven't revealed to keep the pace more interesting.

Been a few years I think first person is a relic from the past, from a time where technically it was the only choice. May still be better than 3rd person for a pure shooter like the modern Dooms but for an adventure game I really don’t like it, be it Cyberpunk, RE or this. You also got Harrison Ford’s likeness here, use it.

Ok, eff the haters this looks brilliant.

Guy needs to learn how to compile video footage as he's fucked up his various captures at one point with the framerate at 1 minute. I've seen this footage looking good on other captures.

So, it looks awesome graphically. Feeling the condemned type fighting.

Day one and hopefully this turns out special.

I'm an indy fan so don't mind me.

I cannot wait to play this tbh, as an old af dude I grew up with Indy and absolutely loved Fate of Atlantis (now there's a game that could do with a 3D remake) so I'll be all over this if it reviews well, thank feck it's not exclusive

I'm still too actively offended that this game is first person to get over it. I couldn't even finish this video without getting pissed off nevermind send them money and stare at it for hours.

Next time make the game that makes sense instead of the one you felt like making. What a load of wasted potential.

Looks great visually, but when are developers going to learn that stealth gameplay fucking sucks?

I'm not playing an action game to not do action and slowly move around your garbage ass AI.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Well you'd think so, but adamsapple adamsapple wants to believe this janky framerate footage is from the PC version of the game, maybe he's in a state of denial.

Come on G, you know most companies use PC footage in these kind of things unless specifically stated otherwise.

Let's hope the PC version doesn't come in hot like most other recent ports.

It's ID Tech so odds are high this is gonna perform very good and be very scalable but you never know. 🤷‍♂️

The game looks more exploration, puzzle, and stealth-focused than I like. I was hoping for a more rollicking good-time action movie feel, but that's not this game. Ah well. It might still have some fun moments later on, but I didn't see anything here that would draw me in.

I agree with the complaints about using 1st person. The main advantage of 1st person is its anonymity. The player can imagine him/herself in the role (e.g., in Bethesda games). In 3rd person, you can't do that, because you see who the protagonist is, and it's not you - it's Geralt or whoever. In this case, people don't want to imagine themselves in the scenario; they want to see Indy on screen. So yeah, not a great choice.

I just can't fathom why they decided to make it first person. The game screams to be in third person.
The only reason I can think of is that machinegames weren't comfortable with third person, given their history.

It looks bad. Performance seems all over the place, graphically looks like a remaster of an early PS4 game and I think the only reason why they made it stealth is because they didn't wanted to have Indiana Jones commit genocide like Nathan Drake in Uncharted, but since is a game and not a movie, looks like could get boring fast.

Ummm I'd really like this to be good and play it on PS5 next spring since I'm a fan of the original movie trilogy but...this is not good.

The streets that look empty and less alive than the first Assassin’s Creed.
That first person is clearly not ideal and the framerate collapsing during fights plus the ugly motion blur is motion sickness inducing.
They need to polish it if they need it. There's no point to rush it in time for December, it's not a game that will define their holiday season performance, that's CoD.

Hyperbole. Fucking PS4. Wow

Performance is actually good it's just this video. And we don't know how many set pieces/action sequences they are holding back.

But apart from that yes bang on.

The graphics look GREAT

I am still not sold on first person. Watching various previews can’t shake the feeling that while things look ok, third person view would be better, especially in melee combat.

Eh… maybe. A really shitty version of it, sure. Which feels down-right damning given the age of that game. It sure doesn’t seem to be on par with Dishonored, which is honestly not a high bar to begin with. But maybe it all comes down to less than inspired animation.
