I would happily pay $70 for a combo remaster of Infamous 1 & 2.
Given how re-release/remaster-happy Sony is, I’m shocked we haven’t gotten this tbh.

I'm guessing it’s because porting games out of PS3 that were only written for that platform is actually hard as hell

Personally I'd easily and without hesitation pick inFamous. Had a great time with all the games and the smaller downloadable ones. I remember the first having quite stiff animations for cutscenes etc but it felt real good to play.

I didn't mind Prototype 1, from memory it was a bit janky and repetitive, but had some fun to it. The 2nd game I hated, it felt like the game was made by interns or like when a Disney movie got a random sequel, like Aladdin, but it was made by some random studio and the quality almost gave the impression it was a counterfeit.
I remember it having a lot of bugs and screen tearing too. Don't think I played more than a few hours of it either. Plus I kinda forgot Activision used to make games and create new IPs.

Would be really into an inFamous remake, if it came to PC.

Anyone remember 3D Dot Game Heroes from FromSoft? Metal Gear Solid 4? Starhawk? SOCOM 4? The Darkness?
Goddammit 3D Dot Game Heroes is so good dude, it's absolutely criminal it hasn't been rereleased. I don't even care about a remaster with it, it's that good, just at least rerelease the fuckin thing so it can be played on modern PlayStations moving forward.

Also, The Darkness? Fuck yeah. You have solid taste in games.

I remember liking Prototype better than Infamous 1.
I liked the setup of the world and story better and I found the powers more unique and fun. Infamous 1 in particular just felt too much like a basic third person shooter with the guns re skinned as electric powers.

Infamous 2 though was a big set up IMO. They improved the melee gameplay which was much needed and added cool new powers that improved the comabt. Also visually it was a big step up on both a technical and artistic level

Yes.

And Killzone.
And Motorstorm.
And Resistance.
And the entire PS3 Ratchet saga.

Yup.
It sucks that Sony has mostly focused on remastering games that are already available on ps5 and look and run fine on it, instead of bringing back some of these older titles which are trapped on Ps3, usually with awful performance and IQ.

I'm not a huge Resistance fan, but I'm surprised there's no remaster collection of those.

Anyone remember 3D Dot Game Heroes from FromSoft?

While 3D Dot Game Heroes was published by From in some territories, it actually was developed by Silicon Studio, makers (or rather owners...) of the Enlighten game lighting technology as well as several game development middleware tools.

(Enlighten was the secret sauce behind the impressive global illumination displayed in games of the PS3/PS4 era like Battlefield 3 and other Frostbite Engine games as well as SF5, Nier Automata, and Hellblade. Silicon Studio's other stuff was particularly adopted by Japanese software developers, as it was in the time between the dominant run of Renderware and the eventual takeover of the market by UE, and having a Japanese studio with good tech and reachable Nihongo support staff was important before Epic got its reach everywhere.)

I always considered 3D Dot Game Hero a go-for-the-gold tech demo effort to both show off tech and push the studio as a major gamemaker, kind of like what Unreal/UT was for Epic and Burnout was for Criterion. Sadly, it didn't really go that way for Silicon, but they did make the Bravely Default games.

(*Total tangent, but it's not like a 3D Dot Game Hero thread is going to pop up any time soon to comment on... and as long as we're talking PS3 games deserving of a remaster, yeah, this is one of them alongside Infamous and Prototype.)
