Is CD Key Legit?

Is the CD Key website really legitimate? I've noticing you can get games for super cheap. For instance one game is only $20 on CD Keys whereas if you buy it directly from Steam, it's $60. Seems almost too good to be true.
yes they are legit. they buy up keys during sales and take advantage of regional pricing.

You can use CD Key, no problems there (i'm not here to lecture you), but i'm not sure how big of a cut the devs get when you buy on a key seller site. Probably not much.

I've never used them but I'm going to try it out this weekend.
I missed the Steam sale of Red Dead Redemption 2 for 19.99.
CDKEYS has the Ultimate edition for 21.09.
So then I just buy here they email me a code? and enter the code in Steam? Is that all I got to do?
They don’t email you the code. The code will be on the site. They will email you that the code is ready which is pretty much instantaneous. And yes, it’s really that simple. Steam is awesome like that.

Gmg works the same.

Have used them for decade, for both preorders and cheap games for steam deck and pc library. They are as legit as they come. Not sure how people still ask this

Because getting such big discounts, especially on gift cards, sounds too good to be true.

And it is. Or rather, there's a catch.

Yes, the keys are legitimate and won't get your accounts suspended or banned.

But, in total and proportionally less of your money goes to the developers and publishers. Hence they make less profit, and are therefore less likely to make more or as good games.

I've used them multiple times and I've never had any issues.

The price range is from "meh" to "how can they discount it this much, so fast?!"

They also utilize a decent amount of payment options *and* even have "pay over time/pay in four installments".

I highly recommend them. Some very good deals if you dig!

Kinguin used to be my main cheap game site but they started selling steam accounts with a game on it and not a key. Feels bad man.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Cdkeys.com is alright.

Might be classified as a grey market reseller but I haven't had any issue with them for years.

I've used them for PSN top up cards and before that for PS+ since they had very good deals on the yearly sub. Never had issues and I've used them for years.

Legitimate as in they are an authorised reseller that gets keys stratight from the publisher? No, of course not.
They source grey market keys, so the keys themselves arr legitimate, you just aren't really supporting the publisher by buying those keys.
Sites like gamesplanet are authorised resellers, even greenmangaming doesn't get every key from the publisher, but at least they list the source of their key per game.

Where do those keys come from then? Doesn't the publisher control what keys exist for their own game? How can there exist keys that don't support the publisher?

Cdkeys are top boys, bought probaly hundreds of games from them, good prices for PC and Xbox games. I have had 1 issue when the key unlocked some fucking bent tennis game when it should of been some other game. There support were swift and bold, come at me with a quick refund .

They come fro the publisher, but they are distributed at bottom barrel regional pricing, so the grey market reseller gets to pocket all the profit.

Red Dead Redemption is not a Steam key. It's for the stupid Rockstar Launcher

Stitch is correct. It required entering the code into the Rockstar launcher, it didn't work in Steam.
I now have a CDKeys account and a new Rockstar Account and I now have Red Dead 2 downloading to my PC.
$17.09 It seems to be working.

100% trustworthy. I bought several steam games and gamepass codes from there. I had an issue where i somehow didnt get a key. Their customer service resolved it in under an hour. I also use Eneba and Gamivo regularly and never had any issues, even though they're kind of shady.

I've used them for years and only had one key that didn't activate. Support was great and they emailed me a replacement key in a couple of hours.

gg.deals go there to see the risks involved for each and every shop on the grey market. CDkeys.com only has 1 risk (unknown origin of key) but they're the most 'legit' out of all the grey market websites.

Always use gg.deals and then you can see both the cheapest, historical lows and least risky stores (see image). They also list the official resellers of course. I've got over 1200 games on Steam, purchased most via the grey market and only once has a code been revoked (which was from G2A at the time).

Also, make sure to sign in with Steam on gg.deals so it syncs your wishlist. Get ready to save thousands of dollars/euros by never purchasing games at the full price ever again!

I've bought quite a few keys of CD key's in the past and never had a problem with them, Steam knew about it and they saved me money buying new games.
