I think threads being open such as this one, are a healthy reminder to the community that if you play stupid games then you win stupid prizes. If anyone wants to make an arse of themselves they're free to do so but expect to be banned. The more mature posters here then have a platform to openly mock and ridicule the ridiculous and frankly pathetic console warrior mentality and I take no issue with that.

Console warring in 2021 just doesn't make any sense.
I think the PS3/360/Wii gen was the last time a console war made any kind of sense and my God the flame wars back then were legendary. At this point people have their console of choice and warring over which is better is just dumb. Almost like people wanting to create a war to fulfill something that they may have missed out on.
Why put forth the effort to fanboy over some dumb shit? Just go on YouTube and experience some of the archived gems.

I got a warning yesterday but the warning didn't explain why, so I have to guess now. I don't remember attacking anyone.
I like Sony better than MS and I generally don't like MS vision for the console market, I don't think there's anything wrong with this view, it's a completely fair opinion to have, just as it's fair for someone to love Gamepass and cheer and beg for more publishers being acquired (I guess).
To me the mature thing is to be able to handle criticism of the company/game you like more or different opinions or even some jokes without getting into personal attacks. But I think you can get away with attacking people as long as you label that person a fanboy beforehand.
Anyway, maybe I just got the wrong impression.

Perhaps you can take your dislike of MS and make a specific thread about it. I'm certain plenty of other people here would love to join in. No one wants to have a positive thread about any of the companies ruined because someone has to let everyone know they DON'T like said company. It usually doesn't create useful dialog and ends up with warnings and bans.

Ya, just unfortunate but is what it is. GAF is very different than it was back in the day. You used to have to have a legit email account which helped out A LOT. Not sure why mods don't do that again.

Not really. They haven't come back. Discussion has been a lot less fun lately because so many are gone. Saying that Xbox or PlayStation sucks shouldn't get anyone banned. Saying someone else sucks because they like or don't like Xbox or PlayStation should probably get some mod attention.

The Wii U shat on itself to be fair. Still remember trialling it at the mall and my four impressions were,:
1. Zombie U is taking an age to load....no way this is much of a step up from x360/PS3.
2. Asymmetric gameplay is OK fun but meh, it didn't blow me away Nintendoland.
3. The name sucks and the marketing too. Ordinary consumers are gonna think it's a Wii add on.
4. £300 with a small number of games versus £130 for x360 with a massive game library = no contest.
