"January 20: FAA director fired
January 21: Air Traffic Controller hiring frozen
January 22: Aviation Safety Advisory Committee disbanded
January 28: Buyout/retirement demand sent to existing employees
January 29: First American mid-air collision in 16 years"

Is this true?

Yes.

Trump’s doing his best to point fingers and put blame elsewhere but this is the result of his actions.
The Federal “buyout” was somehow Elon Musk getting into the Office of Personnel management and sending out an email trying to get people to sign a resignation letter. In no way was it a buyout. Apparently some of Trump’s people were blindsided by it. It’s disgusting as they’re trying yo eliminate Federal jobs.

As for an investigation, I’ll believe the findings just as much as I believe Russian detractors magically falling out of windows.

People complaining about this being politicized…where the hell have you been living? If Biden fired people and gutted the Aviation Safety Commitee you know damn well Fox News, Newmax, your boomer Aunt, and everyone else would be nonstop attacking him. EVERYTHING is politicized now, but this tragic accident happened because of sheer stupidity from Trump on his Revenge Tour.

What angers me is how AS SOON AS Trump said "DEI is to blame" after NO FACTS about hiring or staffing had yet to be found explaining any of this, folks bought his words as if they were scripture.

You lot should be smarter than that! You can't blame EVERYTHING on DEI... FFS!

Bullshit, and you know it. This is the result of his incompetence and reckless behavior. The same jackass who tried cutting all Federal Aid.

HE’s a fucking retard, and that’s who retards voted to run this country into the ground because of fucking groceries.
You’re a retard if you think he was the cause of this. Total TDS retarded.

No he isn’t. He’s saying Trump devalues criticisms against DEI by blaming this tragedy on DEI.

He has a pretty reasonable take in the video. I’m not surprised it does over your head. You’re not a bright person.

I was skipping through the video ... But the parts I heard were him saying the president is correct. Maybe I didn't get the full gist as I was skipping but it didn't need to devolve into personal insults.

That’s America for you.

He addressed the nation and had a moment of silence only to draw blame away from himself, and cast it on everyone else. Just like he always does.

If Biden were President I guarantee you’d be blaming him.

You can gargle those Trump balls all you want. Everything that fucktard has done this week, has set us back. He’s done NOTHING for the middle class. Not a fucking thing, and he never will.

Instead of focusing on the people that died, here we are focusing on Trump dividing us.

I'm done talking about this dude.

I saw the news earlier and Nancy Kerrigan was on there. Apparently some of the figure skaters were from her organization. Just sad.

Trump isn’t dividing us. People have said their peace about those that died.

You’re responsible for your own actions and whether you choose to be “divided.”

They asked Trump again about DEI being the cause during his executive order signing for aviation safety and he just said “It may have. I don’t know.” So it seems like he’s softening on that opinion.

The military is training Gen Z now so they’re doing the best they can.

It's piece. And the pres should be the one leading by example. If he was any kind of decent leader he'd have said or thoughts and prayers for all the families etc not come out with a vile cheap politicised attack on it being the gays / coloreds / disabled / libtards fault. Then again he knows his low iq cult will lap anything up.

Or maybe Trump tried to stop it by firing the right people, but it was too little too late.

just kidding, all the finger pointing at trump or DEI for this is both stupid right now till actual research and a conclusive report is given out.

The pipeline has been depleted since the Obama administration where they tossed out nearly 1,000 qualified applicants based on race snd it was never replenished. Understaffed due to poor priorities.

Laxalt said the lawsuit represents nearly 1,000 people who went to school to become air traffic controllers, which, for about 20 years until the end of the Obama administration, graduated 100 % of the people who went on to work in their field.

The individuals Laxalt represents passed the normal test right before the Obama administration said the class was too White and threw out the tests with the applicants.

They even gave math curves based on race if your math was poor. I’d like to think math is pretty damned important in ATC.

Math, like a Black Hawk flying at 400-500ft when they’re supposed to be flying at 200ft max in that area.

They even said Trump should not have said it, which I agree with.

Then again he knows his low iq cult will lap anything up.
Ironic. Especially who liked your post.

ATC immunity clause in 2013 where if an ATC has “operation errors” more than a few times, they are able to use immunity and they don’t have to be re-trained and can hold the same job position. No accountability, essentially.

In all seriousness, i’m waiting for Trump to pull DEI on Canadian and Mexican tariffs.

“You see, those canadians and mexicans. They hire retards. Thats why they get tariffs because I don’t like retards. We subsidize their retards. So I placed the most beautiful tariffs you’ve ever seen in the history of the United States.”

I see the one Asmongold video and that is fantastic but unless I'm missing something I'm not seeing two Asmongold videos so let me just go ahead and remedy that:

A year old article about the insanity of pushing diversity into air traffic.

I would seriously advise any american to not put your ass on a plane until the competence of the air controllers is assessed. This sort of event is unacceptable, it requires too many mistakes to happen.

Helicopters flying along Potomac frequently pose dangers to passenger jets

On Tuesday night, just 24 hours before a deadly collision between a military helicopter and a regional jet at Reagan National Airport, a different passenger jet coming in for a landing at the airport alerted the tower it had to abort. The reason: risk of possible collision with a helicopter.

A similar situation played out less than a week earlier, on Jan. 23, when a flight from Charlotte suddenly pulled out of its approach at National. The captain informed passengers that he was tracking a helicopter and needed to abort the landing.

“They had to circle back around because there was a helicopter in the flight path,” Richard Hart, a passenger returning from a business trip, recalled the pilot announcing. “At the time I found it odd. ... Now I find it disturbingly tragic.”

The two scrubbed landings within a week illustrate the heightened danger posed by frequent military helicopter flights adjacent to the busy airport, which have been the source of close calls and worries about crashes for years.

The U.S. Army Black Hawk that crashed into an American Airlines regional jet Wednesday night and killed 64 people, as well as three Army crew members on the chopper, had been flying along the east bank of the Potomac River in a flight corridor designated for low-flying helicopters.

Never heard of this, and read about it this morning. What the hell, how do you base hiring on a questionnaire that flip flops on the qualities that matter most in an applicant? Apparently even high scoring minorities were passed up as well.

Not sure about the pipeline being depleted. Apparently 2024 the FAA passed their goal of hiring 1800 new air traffic controllers.
https://www.faa.gov/newsroom/faa-hits-air-traffic-controller-hiring-goal. Who they hired is anyone’s guess, but I assume they would’ve had to go through the academy.

The continued tactic of blaming minorities when bad things happen is starting to get really fucking old. And so many smooth brains eat it up.

Especially when lives are lost like in this situation.

I guess depending on your origin, you view the screens differently

Do you know what it takes to become an ATC? I do, I almost went for it. But the stress is way too much.

They go through rigorous training. It's basically like military boot camp. You go to a training camp for several weeks, after which they assign you to an airport anywhere in the country.

It's not a job someone with an equitable environmental justice degree fresh out of college can just be placed into.

It is for sure a very stressful job. Plus often it tends to use outdated software (written years ago) and so on. It is similar to stock market jobs - you will age faster.

That is often assumed for a lot of job - but I think more often it is not THAT strict and people get a passing grade. It is just like grades at school - as long as the higher ups are not accountable, nobody cares.

No, again this is seriously like military boot camp. Heavy training and (mental) conditioning. It's not something someone just off the street can do and they have a very specific applicant pool who WANT to do the job, but the FAA has been rejecting them due to DEI hiring practices.

I think AI should help there. After all it is able to make decisions based on real data and route the planes.
