I loved the first game, it really came out of nowhere for me. It’s not at all the type of game I’d usually even like. But none of the sequels were as good, and going back to replay the first game obviously doesn’t hit as hard.
It really is a one-and-done kind of game. I wish instead of publishers investing in the IP and trying to milk sequels, they’d invest in the creative team and individuals behind the game and see if they have any other great ideas.
But, alas, that’s basically the polar opposite of Square’s MO at this point. It’s a soulless company and has been for a while.
