List of PS5 Pro enhanced games

RE4 only uses RT for reflections as far as I know and in most of the game you won't even notice the difference, maybe in some specific rooms or during the lake section.

The lake looks like arse with or without RT on.

Puddles you've got to get quite close for it to matter, otherwise they just looked weird.

I think the best place for the RT is when you have to get the boat fuel. Everywhere else is kinda meh.

There's also a couple of rooms in the castle with very reflective floors and towards the end another 2-3 metallic room with reflective surfaces where RT does look better. Other than that yeah, I don't think it makes much difference other than the performance cost.

So I've been playing this on the Pro in performance mode and I think it's running at a noticeably higher resolution, probably running at the upper bounds for dynamic resolution scaling at all times at a locked 60 fps. It's beautiful on Pro.

There are a bunch of games in my backlog with dynamic res that I would probably bump higher on my backlog if I knew they weren't getting a proper patch. Seeing as this would be a re-play, it's ultra low on my list of games I'd play without a patch.

All of us Pro Bloober players are waiting, praying, and apparently crying for a proper patch.

Speak for yourself. I played and completed it on fidelity mode at launch on base PS5.

Did my other 2 runs on performance mode on pro, before they gimped performance back down to base PS5 settings.

Just play it. Bloober are fucking useless and I wouldnt hold my breath for another patch.

Edit -

I see Rebirth director said he'd like to patch pro some more. Hope they do and concentrate on the pop in.

if they are going to keep UE4, it should be a good starting point for new things to add besides PSSR.
Also, GT7 was updated today, and while it improves the instability a little in "stills" like the menu (it was easier for me to spot it looking at the trees in the bg), the RT noise is just about the same.

Bloober really needs to hire a PR person. Something as basic as a tweet or a post in their blog saying "we're working on a fix" would've helped them keep the high reputation they had earned in the SH2 Remake release. Now it's tarnished again because they don't know how to communicate. So basic and they even mess that up.

To be fair, they can say that only if they are working on a fix 🤷‍♂️

Well I just toggled back and forth and PSSR has shimmering artifacts in Hope Springs in the puddles while PSSR off does not. So I’m doing PSSR off for now as I find it looks way cleaner without the noisy PSSR artifacts.

FSR looks blurrier and imo looks worse in motion, but you do you :)

Played a few hours of Helldivers II using the trick to enable the Pro support. As mentioned you have to flick from performance to quality and then back again to force the higher 1440p res of performance mode on the Pro.

I think generally it's a pretty good image. I believe they are only using FSR1 in this game but that works decently well for a 1440p -> 4K scale. There is nothing too egregious as far as image quality goes and my LG's sharpening setting compliments it to recover an extra bit of sharpness. In terms of the visuals, supposedly the only difference between performance and quality mode was the resolution and the way ambient occlusion displayed (which is due to resolution). And the PS5's quality mode was not far off the game maxed out on PC. So in a way we are now looking at a closer to high-end PC experience. Flicking back and forth between the PS5 Pro and PC version confirms they look fairly close.

According to the CEO Sony are pleading with them to add DLSS to PC so it seems likely that more robust Pro support with PSSR is on the cards:

Yeah, it's a discontinued engine, but Warhammer 40K Darktide used it too and that game had ray tracing, DLSS and even frame gen.

The other thing i'd like to see is the ability to remove the 60fps cap as it's already rock solid running at 1440p natively. I'd bet a more performant PSSR mode where the internal res is something like 1080p could allow them to soar into the 90s.
