Puppeteer is a western game - not surprised that it didn't sell well in Japan.
I realize Gavin Moore might make this confusing, but it was developed in Japan.

It's just NBGI being NBGI.
Look at TOX, OP pirate warrior... etc.
This week's sales are up to last Sunday, so the Vita revision wasn't announced yet when the counting period ended.
If sales will go even lower due to the upcoming revision, we haven't seen the bottom yet...
Just because the hardware sales are there doesn't mean third party are assured success. For instance, its going to be interesting to compare New IP Hunting game Gaist Crusher to Toukiden and Soul Sacrifice come December.
Sometimes the lack of titles that eat all the pie on a platform can be a boon for third party.
Wind Waker is out the 26th in Japan and I don't believe a price cut or hardware bundle has been announced.
What do you mean? It's made by SCE Japan Studio. Or do you mean it's western influenced (I'm not seeing it myself).
It really is, especially considering that Puppeteer should be much more appealing for the japanese market. Being outsold by a FPS on a system with a fraction of the PS3's user base is really something else.
I guess it's a case of PS3 owners rather playing something else and vita owners being desperate for new games.

Didn't FFXIV come out on August 27th in Japan too? That would explain the drop, since it was a Tuesday.
I just checked and that is true!
Why, NIntendo? Why?
As far as a price cut, Nintendo's price in Japan was a bit more competitive than elsewhere. I still expected the bundle though.
At this point we should probably assume Chris isn't going to post a new thread. So will this thread also serve as this week's numbers thread too? If so, would someone post software numbers... not that there's much to look at.
With such sales, I'm wondering why Japan isn't fully supporting 3DS.
Except it seems that software is doing well too.
Plus I don't think Gaist Crusher is comparable to Toukiden or Soul Sacrifice. The former is aimed at a younger audience and require some weird accessories while the latter have been released on a platform where the audience is starving for hunting game since Monster Hunter isn't there anymore.
Those are some pretty awful Vita and WiiU numbers. A few of those Vita bundles announced at the press conference were immediately available, no? Anyone know yet how MCS/Famitsu will count VitaTV numbers when that launches in November?
SCEJ failing to pass the Vegeta test.

11k for Killzone doesnt exactly sound like Vita owners are desperate for new games.
