Monster Hunter Wilds: Final Preview - IGN

The most exciting thing about that monster is that it uses a completely new skeleton. It's exciting that we could potentially be seeing more of a completely new class of monster, cephalopod. You know where cephalopods live? Underwater. Just saying. I'll die on this hill.
I never played underwated mh but from the footage and feedback i think i would absolutely hate underwater combat, i hate gimmicky fights, i don't want resources wasted on gimmicky fights, just make 5 new classic monster instead.

I hate everything that is not a classic 1vs1 or multyplayer hunt, i hate zorah, fatalis and safiniva in world and i absolutely despise the royal rumble in rise.

Yup I hated those two fights as well I especially hated Safi one, it damn grind fest and what’s worse if any point you get cut off from the server you lose ALL your progress in siege, such stupid design.

Honestly as much as enjoyed some Elder Dragon fights time to time, I got kinda sick of them after replaying MHW Iceborne…they overuse Elden Dragons way too much in that game, give me more fights like Raging Brachydios.

I heard Wilds is less focus on Elder Dragons and I think that’s really good call.

I didn’t liked Kulve Taroth siege in HR but MR version it was much better, still had its DPS check but it felt like it was proper hunt this time around.

I only tried to hunt the one where you need a group and following him onto tunnels and shit, i honestly never understood the hunt so i bail out after a couple of attempts.

In HR siege you need to break his horns before escapes. In MR you have to slay him this time around, his still has DPS check so if you dont do enough damage in each stage he will escape.

I don't need to watch anything else, i'm probably gonna ignore every new trailer aswell, we are so close.
I’m especially going out of my way to ignore all the content farm channels on YouTube. So many pointless MH channels have sprung up over the last few years. So unnecessary.

Why would I watch anything they create when it’s more or less a repost of the official channels videos but with their added inane commentary.

Their refusal to give the players Tonfas.
It really is time for new weapons in the mainline series. Whether they bring in the Frontier stuff or make new ones, it's time.

Anyways, the final preview looks much improved over the betas. This is still probably the least hyped I've ever been for a new mainline game. I put about 10~ hours into the beta and was already kinda over it. I really hope they took the feedback from the last few months and made some improvements. Also in that video, I'm seeing way too many of those "chocobo-only" mud paths. I HATED those in the beta with how glitchy and buggy travel was on them. I'm sure they probably ironed some of that out, hopefully.

Either way, I will be there day 1 as I have for several generations of MH. Hope I'm eating a big plate full of crow in a few weeks and it's the best game they've ever made.

Tonfas and Magnet Spike. They seem to avoid anything from Frontier.

It really is strange that you have these paths that are just Palamute/Seikret railroad tracks and actually are detrimental to freeform traversal on the map/biome. You can get to where you need to be in Rise much quicker...and of course nothing tops GL Blast Dash Airlines to cross half the map in just a couple seconds.

I prefer the MH4G and MH Rise/Sunbreak style of games.

MH Wilds is gonna be a wait and see since if I had to choose one long game to play it's going to be Xenoblade X. If I started MH Wilds you may as well lock me up for 1 to 2 months.

The Beta kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth because it really detracts from the MH experience of gathering and crafting items and weapons and sells the Beta as a Boss Arena Battler. Which I feel is disingenuous.

If I pick up Wilds...it'll be when either the Expansion comes out or the game as it were is in a completed state with all Monsters and Collaboration events available instead of the slow padding they seem to be going for.

I have a weapon concept ready.

Imagine the chestus from gow3

The aesthetic is a no brainer, just use the head of every monster, look cool and easy to make for devs.

Mechanically, in melee form you have punching, slow moveset, blunt damage, short range, high damage, huge hitstops
Then you detach the heads because they have chains, the moveset change, it's faster, higher range, less damage, less hitstop, maybe you let a small blade coming out from the mouth for a mix of blunt and cut damage (or only cut).

We really need a dmc ifrit type of weapon and a chain type weapon but something more elaborate like a switch-axe, my idea would catch 2 birds with one stone.
