Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Continuing my found footage spree.

- The Bay. Decent to OK-ish movie, main narrator girl has a very annoying squeaky voice, but holy shit those pants are so fucking tight.

clarky clarky John Marston John Marston DKehoe DKehoe I enjoyed The Big Lebowski very much. Great film!

Watched Mulholland Drive the other day.

Man, David Lynch... Feels like he wrote a mostly coherent story and shortly before finishing it went like... "man, this makes way too much sense"... and then wrote an absurd ending into it.

I mean, I read some explanations and interpretations later and its all fine and dandy, but I think that this was absolutely not necessary. Movie would have been superb with a somewhat logical conclusion. It's still good and all but I just don't get it.

Homestead- I should have done anything other at home instead of watch this movie. 2/5. I like Neal McDonough but man is this movie dumb.

Continuing my found footage binge. Watched Evidence (2012)

Probably one of the worse one's I've seen yet. If someone's got photo sensitivity issues or can't handled flashing lights, avoid this. The final 20 minutes are pretty bad about it. It's just not that fun or scary of a movie at all either way.

Watched Gladiator 2 last night. Went in with low expectations and it was worse than I was expecting. I knew nobody would reach the level of Joaquin Phoenix or Russell Crowe but the acting was just bland across the board. The revenge arc didn't make any sense, the soundtrack sucked, and the retcon was just a lazy attempt to get the audience invested. I think it was around the ridiculous saddled rhino and baboon scenes that I knew the movie was hopeless.

I often put off watching movies that are considered classics. I guess it's because I don’t want to be disappointed or feel like I need to be in the right mood or mindset to fully appreciate them

I actually thought the first film was an absolute banger and highly entertaining. It’s pretty much perfect, and I can't think of anything that felt truly "wrong" with it.

My only gripe is how easily Marty accepts that Doc has a fucking time machine. He barely questions it, just hops in and goes on an adventure. But maybe that's part of the movie’s charm, too

I absolutely love movies with characters that go on a real adventure, it almost feels like the first movie is a perfect embodiment of that. The way Marty gets thrown into the past, navigating the unknown and trying to find his way back home makes it such a thrilling ride

9/10

I did a rewatch of this film last year and I found the incestuous subplot of his mom wanting to have sex with Marty but not knowing that's her future son to be wild. Man the 80s and 90s were crazy in terms of entertainment

It was easier because people were upset about such stuff only in their small circles. I find it wild to look back today and see how popluar Steven King's IT became given the kids gangbang at the end. Like you said, 80s and 90s were the Wild West of entertainment.

Watched this on a flight back home from a work trip. Really loved the performances and glad I picked it over Venom.

Against all odds. 1984 film with Jeff bridges and a good looking woman. The theme song by Phil Collins is better and seeing that music video is what made me want to watch.

Overall the odds are pretty good you will enjoy it. 3/5

And if anyone complains about disrespecting myan ruins show them this movie. They walk all over them and film love scenes in them.

I knew the odds would be good that you would have a title pun in here.
Without them, well, there's just an empty space.

Dog man. Took my 10 year old he likes the books. There was some kid near me that was loud but his mom kept trying to shush him. Over all it was a fun kids film. Does have some references to die hard and aliens and other films. “Get away from her you fish” was pretty good.

Just saw Alien Romulus.

Movie was legit. Some dumb characters of course but aside from that the best Alien movie since Aliens. Not that this is to say much but… yeah.

No pun, or am I ......... barking up the wrong tree?
Glad to hear it's a solid movie. My son loves the books.

Watched Kneecap last night and thought it was really good. The band play themselves and do a good job holding their own alongside the likes of Fassbender.

Better man- the movie is good but I would like to watch something better man. The promotion for this movie was awful. And I don’t know how they thought it would find an audience in the US. Should have been released in uk only.

It is a good self congratulatory story. He should be a better man.

If you've ever thought about watching Brightburn (the creepy movie with the evil superman kid), dont bother. I caught about 75% of the movie the other day. Missed the first part.

Junk movie. Some cool gory kills, but overall shit especially the ending.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Watched Wolf Man last night with the kids. The movie had a creepy atmosphere and some good jump scares.

Unfortunately, I felt like it all fell apart in the third act.

Wolf man 2024 - a real howler. Movie is tragic and that makes it suck a little. Woof man.

3/5

Exposing the sinister cartel of retailers who allow companies to pay for advertising space.

Great 90s thriller. My son dug it quite a bit and if I can make him a Kurt Russell fan, I know I am doing my job as a parent. Saw RLM do a re-review on this and forgot this gem from back in the day.

Thanks for the recommendation. Just watched this and it was an exciting thriller/action movie that I'd completely missed when it came out originally.

I watch it every once in a while, and due to watch it again one of these weekends.

Rounders with Matt Damon and Edward Norton. Awesome movie about young guys playing and cheating in shady poker halls.
No chance you haven't seen Damon tell this story already, but it's still good:

I managed to catch a screening of The Seed of the Sacred Fig today. It's definitely worth checking out if you can. There was a huge amount of bravery shown by those who made it. It was filmed in secret in Iran and then smuggled out of the country. During production, the director was sentenced to prison and a flogging and ended up having to flee the country.

Watched a few horrors recently - Leprechaun 3 and Digging up the Marrow. Seen Marrow before and it was a decent second watch. The whole lore and world of the monsters was great. Leprechaun 3 wasn't great.

One more for my found footage horror movies pile.

The Lost Footage of Leah Sullivan

Decent but one of those movies where I want to enter the screen and strangle the characters myself. The final 10 minutes are the on-screen protagonist making one extremely dumb decision after another that lead to things that can be easily avoidable by having two brain cells rub together.

Watching Furiosa.

45 mins in and she's still a little kid. Nothing relevant to any sort of plot seems to have taken place. First she got capture by Chris Hemsworth's people, then sort of rescued but recaptured and her mom was killed, making that pointless. Then Chris's group go to the Citadel and obviously get beat making that all pointless. Now they are at the oil refinery that the tankers from the last one probably came from and Furiosa has done nothing.

EDIT - Finally a scene where Furiosa did something. Complete rehash of the last film but after over an hour I'll take it.

Not sure how I feel about this one; it's like a romantic sci-fi with a bit of action and a bunch of Groots 😄
