Misleadind people is putting 2 seconds of Finn holding a lightsaber so they think he may be a jedi. Swapping a character in a trailer in order to create false expectations is lying.I think there's a huge difference between misleading people with video game trailers so that the plot of your story isn't spoiled vs making up lies about being called every slur under the sun. Is Laura Bailey lying too in your opinion?
Countless media properties do it. Avengers does it every film, nobody complains. It's done to preserve the story. I have no issue with it and it doesn't bother me. If you think it's egregious lying, that's your opinion and I respect it but I disagree with you.Misleadind people is putting 2 seconds of Finn holding a lightsaber so they think he may be a jedi. I'm still against people writing hateful stuff to creators on twitter.
When has Druckmann ever been hateful towards anybody? He made a game that has polarized opinions but that is his right to do.What do you expect, you do the same and don't expect reciprocation.... it is the internet after all.![]()
Absolutely this but also I bet sales have fallen off a cliff now that the game is out in the wild and world of mouth is getting around. Would t surprise me is this is a PR stunt to garner attention for the game, also wouldn’t be shocked if some of those comments are “fake” in the sense that it allows druckmann to play the victim here.Feels like he's trying to make it so no one can say anything negative again. Wouldn't be surprised if someone at naughty dogs decides to "be a martyr" for this.
These are not just people's views though. These are people being hateful scum instead of just criticizing a video game. There is a difference.he wont gain anything by revealing all of this..playing victim would make things worse...wont even change public perception
as he want others to accept his works and view, he also need to accept others
He did not make it with the purpose of being divisive. He told the story he wanted to tell and knew it would be divisive. It is not his fault if critics can't be civil and decent about it.Had he somehow offended the woke cult he would be receiving the same hate from the other side. Death threats and all. And on top of that they would try to get him canceled.
This is not ok either way. It is wrong. But that's the nature of the beast.
He made a game with the purpose of being divisive. You reap what you sow.
all more reason for him to ignored it than post stuff like this..it will attract more attention from this kind of people..maybe he should take off from twitter for awhile, wait things calm down...and i believe he should expect this coming since he knew the game would be controversionalSales have not fallen off a cliff. It is still number one almost everywhere.

Are you sure?He did not make it with the purpose of being divisive. He told the story he wanted to tell and knew it would be divisive. It is not his fault if critics can't be civil and decent about it.
"Some of [the fans of the original game] are not going to like this game, and not like where it goes, and not like what it says or the fate of characters that they love," Druckmann said. "I'd rather have people passionately hate it than just be like, 'Yeah, it was OK.'"
Tell me, what exactly is storytelling exempt from. really? Are you not familiar with the renaissance period or the dark ages.....Are you not familiar with history or how cults are formed, it always starts with scripture, impressionable or even truthful or enlightening words, but it never ends there. There is always some zealot or nutter who thinks he must kill in the "name of god" ultimately fueled by some lunacy laden slant.....Yet you never to get to the slant, unless you have gained people's trust, have quoted much scripture and of course having them conform to your dogma's implicitly. That's one way to get people to continue talking about your game.
What those trolls are saying is wrong, no doubt. But I feel Neil is not innocent here. He forced identity politics into the game. He forced his own beliefs into the game. I also noticed how there is a Christian symbol (fish symbol) used in the cult faction in the game, depicting Christians as evil, crazy people. Trying to label true, loving, peaceful Christians with crazy, murderous cult people is no better.
I do not feel sorry for the guy. Now, he'll continue to get free marketing for the game
No. these guys need to be exposed. So he should just report it to twitter and they would just sweep it under the rug, as online death threat number 1 million? At some point, these people need to be exposed. More people need to know what's going on, so we can try to expunge such individuals from the platform. If we can see these handles, we can probably trace them in the future when they lay their guard down or we can link to the real persons masking under the guise of anonymity online. These guys have to know, that when you post these things on the W3, someone can always track you down, and it's about high time they start tracking internet bullies, death threaters and online deviants and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. I think you would be surprised who these people are...They try to create bot accounts to do this nonsense, but that can still be tracked,,,,The comments are vile, by pathetic people.
At the same time, Druckmann should re-think his stance that it's 'important to expose this'. Is it really? All I see it doing is adding fuel to the fire. Block them, report them to twitter, don't respond and move on. If Twitter fail to maintain a satisfactory platform take it up with them or ultimately leave in protest.
Everyone knows twitter is full of cunts. It's why many don't use it. Which only increases the cunt ratio.
How some people in this thread haven't been banned or smacked by their parents should be a case study. If you think this is acceptable, you are an absolute dickhead.
Again; I'm against the harrasment, I'm jut playing devil's advocate. Many people( I know a couple of them) bought the game blindly. Based on their experience of the first game, the trailers and the 10/10 reviews. And lets be honest, most people who are into gaming are into fun adventures, which is, as far as I know, what they got from the first game. And they feel they didn't get that from the second one.He did not make it with the purpose of being divisive. He told the story he wanted to tell and knew it would be divisive. It is not his fault if critics can't be civil and decent about it.
Once again: TLOU2 had no LGBT agenda, that wasn't it
LGBT simply being a part of a game is no agenda. They are simply given the same weight that a heterosexual couple would have and there is nothing wrong with that. If it is an agenda then maybe the SJWs are right. If people are told that their mere existence in any piece of media is this then I don't blame them for being so militant. I never thought I would have sympathy for SJWs but I do.
The protagonist is gay and she has a love interest. It makes all the sense for the story they are telling. Nobody would say a word if it was a male protagonist with a woman love interest.Yes it is, it's called forced diversity, it made no sense for the story they're telling.
Oh no, I hate this game so much I wanna make a death threat. Look at me I made a death threat my life is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better, I feel validated and vindicated because this game sucks, and I want people to know how much it sucks through death threats. I am totally a productive member of society with my new death threat!!!
Hate the game all you want, make spiel about how much it sucks, just don't involve taking the life off another person in any form.
On the agenda note, if you believe there is one, it's because you believe there is one and buy into the whole "arguments" surrounding it (this means it only exists because you want it to exist). I just don't care about LBGT, right wing, or anything like that because it's a fucking game and until I see a scientific study showing me that games have agendas that can influence people to vote in certain ways, I just won't care. I'm not gonna pretend to be smarter than anyone else by having some secret knowledge of the game's "agenda".
Yes it did 100 percent.
I'm sorry I thought I was stating my opinion. In fact what's so wrong about this opinion? If you just wanna say "this sucks" and then add nothing off value then I'm sure you're welcome to, but I dare say you just want your voice heard and have the last word. This is a really bad argument and I am done talking about it, shit some of you on here just want to one up someone to feel better then them.
I've watched the video already.
What I meant was the real agenda of TLOU2 was "quickly get rid of Joel, replace with Abby, spend rest of the game trying to justify his death being deserved while fishing for sympathy for Abby so people want to see her survive and be the new playable protagonist for the rest of the series".
That's all TLOU2 was.
Abby is built like a man (and Colleen Fotsch is built like a man too, that's why they casted her) because they wanted to give a man's gameplay to a woman.
The core of the debate boils down to falling for it vs not falling for it.

Don't let Twitter off the hook so easily. If something is worth reporting to the police and twitter do nothing about it then blast them for it. These people exposed themselves posting publicly. Twitter can easily remove people from the platform. Even if it's not worth getting the police involved then Twitter are still responsible for what goes on their platform. Users arguing amongst themselves is far less effective than holding twitter to account. If twitter don't want to do anything about it then why continue to support them by using it.No. these guys need to be exposed. Twitter is a joke. Its pratically a radical free speech plataform where the punishment relies on reports. If people don't report they probably don't see anything wrong and I'm pretty sure these assholes working on twitter do this on purpose.
Already said that twitter should be accountable for not doing their damn jobs properly.
You know this doesn't prove me wrong in any capacity. I mean if being dismissive is automatically considered the right argument then bravo. If you believe it it's just because you want to believe it lol are you kidding me........
