NeoGAF SEGA Community Thread |OT| To be this good takes AGES

GAF's Resident Saturn Omnibus

This new Sega-Atlus-Vanillaware is a God Send for Sega Saturn fans.

It's basically a Shining Force/Dragon Force/Princess Crown mash up 💪🏻

Ooh, that's going to be awesome. Definitely taking inspiration from Dragon Force, a series that deserved to sell millions. In a just world, we'd have as many DF games as Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. And I always love how Vanillaware follows the same art style going all the way back to Princess Crown (another unjustly overlooked Sega Saturn classic...cough, fan translation, ahem).

I hope this videogame is successful enough to enable Sega to look at its vast software library and consider reviving its many RPG classics: Shining Force 3 Trilogy, Terra Phantastica, Princess Crown, Dragon Force.

Vanilla games are on the rise:
Dragon's Crown > Million seller
13 Sentinels > Million seller

Plus, Sega-Atlus networks will help.

Does playing burned games on a dreamcast vs retail disks wear the laser down faster?
Also, I remember dreamcasts having the VGA adapter back in the day... how easy is it to connect to DC to a TV via HDMI, just need an adapter?

Hello everyone.

In case someone might be interested, here is a link to preorder my Game Gear game. It will be released later this year.

Many other games available from that publisher too, including Master System games in MegaDrive carts.

How's this going? I'm the proud owner of two SMSs.
I have made quite a bit of progress.

Updates are happening here : Sega Mag
You can scroll up to see a little bit of everything.

I have worked on all dungeon specifications this summer and I am currently implementing them in Tiled. Then I will integrate them into the code and connect everything.

(as a small side project I have been hacking back some lost gradient in Sonic Spinball on Master System, might continue eventually)
(and as a side note I have created a hack of Mortal Kombat II precisely for the same reason, if you are interested : link)

My Game Gear game (The Sword of Stone) is releasing this month, I know it is expensive buying a physical game but this is the only way to support me ! Thanks for you interest.

So my google feed showed that Square Enix is taking pre-orders these replica models of Sega consoles.

I mean - they look nice... but why Square Enix, especially Square?

I am still pretty sour that Square never supported Sega consoles - yet they are trying to make money off them selling the replica models?
I'm sure Sega will still get some cut from the sales from these replicas - but I guess I'm still pretty salty about it.
