Both dev kits aren't final. Osirisi mentioned that. It should be around E3. Maybe MS sent to devs recently a dev kits which are stronger than PS5s dev kits for now. But final ones with final target specs, like i've said, should be around E3. As it is stated before by insiders, PS5 has a higher target specs.

Near final in what sense though? I believe the January 2013 PS4 dev kit had final spec APU/RAM but not final other things like USB ports/Front cameras etc. We know for a fact the PS4 Pro dev kit was final spec with the post GDC 2016 dev kit but it wasn't the final dev kit either.

I doubt they'll be substantial changes at this point. The V dev kit went out to third-parties after the April Wired article with nothing to indicate any iterations until the last few days. It would be odd that devs would work with a kit for almost a year and then get a new kit with substantially changed specs now.

Here's a funny story for you, I just found out I have allergies. My nose, ears, throat are pretty screwed up. I am coughing up solids. I can't take anything for it until my allergy test Tuesday afternoon. My first APT is Wednesday at 5PM.

My Doctor says it's allergies, seeing a specialist on Tuesday, dry cough for sure. I was talking antihistamines to clear it out but you have to stop x days before your allergy test (Tuesday afternoon). So I'll be fine by Wednesday PM.

It's one way to market and I'm not knocking MS's strategy either. If Sony responded with actual marketing and statements to every random internet rumor like the GitHub thing they would look panicky to me. That's a flea to them. It's not going to effect their sales even .000001% whether they respond to that or not. It could be August or they could do a big thing just after E3 and let everyone preorder and give a date and then a second event in September with specific specs. And I don't even know if that's why Sony hasn't said anything I was just spitballing.
They should respond and they have plenty of time to. Stuff said before preorders are even available and before there's even real press for these things is so miniscule. At this time last cycle we were thinking Sony was gonna have DRM and check ins like MS was planning because they hadn't explicitly denied it. Guess what happened? They were patient and blindsided Xbox after Xbox's E3 conference
Hell I remember the ticker on Spike TV saying Sony was possibly gonna have 3 versions of PS4 available from $399 to $599 and that was in the middle of E3 conference day. My point being that them letting the rumors go unchallenged has no bearing on where they actually stand in this race. They could be underpowered and having issues or they could be just fine. We have no firm indication either way and there are conflicting rumors

I'm just happy that this gen AMD stepped up with their CPUs and we're getting a decent hardware again. Those Jaguar CPUs were trash at launch, today they're absolute shit. Imagine having to design your games in 2020 with them having to run on a 3900X but then having to run on that Jaguar as well. Fuck this.

well your numbers seem realistic... I think many people just really have issues believing osirisblack's above 12TF stuff... like... that even stretches it for that supposed $500 pricetag the PS5 seemingly has... that would more likely than not result in a system that would be priced somewhere close to $600 to be sold without a loss.
we are talking almost Titan RTX performance numbers here since we have to assume these APUs can't boost as high as the Titan RTX can and if you run it at non-boost clocks that's a 12.5TF card. and if the PS5 actually runs a GPU more in line with an RTX2080 at 2ghz, how fucking big will that thing be to cool that chip down?

PS4 was 40% stronger than Xbox one not including Ram advanteges too.
Xbox One X was 40% more than Pro (similar Ram setups but higher BW on X)
PS5 and SeriesX rumored to be almost identical with power advantage within 10% of each other and similar Ram setups (power can go either way)
So in summary, PS5 and SeriesX is the closest gen power wise in console history, they are basically a twins in a different shell.

I’m pretty sure That if they’re going to be so bold as to even attempt Ray Tracing on these consoles that they won’t nearly have enough power TBH. I hope so too. (doubt it though)
My mind has been blown twice now. My biggest thing is if this is what can be done on multi platform I just cannot wait to see what the first party devs cook up.

People are too fixated on numbers this gen and I blame MS for beating us over the head with that 6 tf number.
If we get 12 or above, amazing.
No matter what lets see the games and yeah, imagine what a first party dev could do especially working on one machine specs that blow away anything we have ever seen in the console space.
