I also doubt Sony cancelled PS5 meeting duo to coronavirus. If you think about it, no one in the industry bar Klee, Tommy and guy working on gamestop counter (Osiris) knew anything about PS5 meeting so I doubt anything was scheduled, let alone cancelled.

Lol we will see. Once next gen launches, we will get plenty of Youtube vids comparing games on next gen and PC's using 2080ti's etc. I still expect 2080ti's to produce better results than the next gen consoles, like 60fps vs 30fps in 30fps next gen games etc

Thats not the point. Point is, only 3 of them "knew" anything about PS5 meeting. Even before corona started to make headlines Sony announced they are not ready to show of PS5 just yet.
On top of that, guys like Jason who are gazillion times more informed about this came out and said he doesnt know of any meeting taking place in February. Its clear as a day they were guessing, because guess what? It makes complete sense. They cannot show it in Sept, Oct, Nov or December as its too late. They had CES in January, and therefore we are left with 6 months where they can show it of. Everything bare Feb/March made little sense few months back do they bet on that. And bet wrong.

Cerny's the lead system architect. He's much more involved with the overall design of the architecture itself. He's much higher up the chain.Like I've been saying for a long time now, it's best to go with a mix of sources. The Github leak is extremely limited, the only reason to consider it has pertinence is because of the Oberon stepping benchmarks which have provided more context on what was posted there. I.e it's a very dependent source (it's mainly riding off another source, IMO).
So Github, GPU benchmarks (worth noting; several products with specs lining up to the benchmarks have been officially confirmed/announced at one point or another), reputable insiders, reputable Youtube tech channels, reputable website articles (Bloomberg, ITMedia, IGN etc....Forbes doesn't count because they've just had clickbait-tier articles from "contributors") etc seems like a good mix to go with, some with more weight than others.
The harder part would be to figure out what parts from them to take into account and what parts to discard, but it's getting easier to do that when we get official news like today, and patterns in certain results coming about that fit a timeline, among other things.
There's probably a reason they haven't mentioned memory amount or bus figures yet, or SSD speed, bandwidth, storage amount etc. Same goes with price.
Either of these companies can throw around some big surprises. We just hope they are good ones, like today's news has been
I thought Mark Cerny was the lead hardware engineer for PS5? Assuming principal in this context is equivalent to being the lead on the project, and Mark himself said he was lead of the engineering team for PS5.
But I guess Principal could also refer to being a chief member, not necessarily the lead. In any case, it'll be interesting to see what PS5's RT solution is, whether it's RDNA2 or something proprietary, and if the latter, how they've integrated it into the APU.

Does anyone know of a document, dating back June/July 2019, which specified a bunch of AMD chips in making, among them PS5 and XSX, with one featuring VRS, RT and 56CUs?
It was 6 months before WC got 12TF leak and 7 months before Phil Spencer showed huge XSX SOC which all but pointed directly to 12TF.
This document can no longer be found on the Internet and AMD has send request to Github and Google to remove any trace of it. Seems kinda on point, coincidentally.

Tommy's one of the only insiders who has not been verified. Also they've had instances of diving head-first into console warrior attack posts, not befitting of someone who wants to come off as a credible insider IMHO. And he was also caught pulling "info" from spec sheets that had been out for months online by then, but were forgotten by many people by the time he started posting them again.
I'm sorry but Tommy is not very reputable, they seem to have been piggybacking off obscure spec fantasy sheets and what other more reputable insiders have been claiming. That's my opinion on the matter anyway, nothing against them personally.
Dunno where it's at anymore sadly but now you've got me very curious. Hopefully someone saved a copy and will be generous enough to post it back up anonymously?

With a BOM of $450 , and xsx being rumoured to be slightly higher , unless in a highly unlikely situation where Sony has managed to get a better deal , I think the ram solutions will be very similar.

Hope this is true Tommy. We've heard this from some youtuber previously I forgot his name (mbg?) and all these know it alls that think they know about emulation cried its impossible.
