Somethings Never Change... Guys I was joking and trying to bring a lil Humor to the thread.
At the moment both my xbox one and ps4 is collecting dust, I suppose I could put them in my clean box and start forensics collection on how much dust particles each unit has accumulated.

You can use the own TV to control and pair the new controller with PS4.
Like I said unless you are in the rare case of a TV without HDMI-CEC you should pair a new controller without need an USB cable.
Do you mean turn on PS4, navigate through the menus till the right spot, press share+PS on the controller and wait for pairing? No, thanks, so much faster to plug the same USB cable I already use to charge and hit ps button.

Wonder how long it will be before we get pics of the latest PS5 kits that look to be nearing final launch form that are hitting more studios as we speak.

But the final kit shouldn't arrive in July ? I read this date in various leaks through the months, maybe it's wrong of course! :pie_thinking:

Where did MS say their ray tracing was patented? I've seen them say that about their VRS solution.. but either way, that could be a software patent, not on the hardware.
Because DXR is in Direct X, just like Microsofts version of VRS.

It's only a software patent, it doesn't stop Sony or anyone else adding their own implementations in their own APIs, GNM, Vulkan and OpenGL for example.

I would Absolutely love a new Wild Arms, is their anything shown proof wise that they have been developing it since 2017?
Reddit user DasVergeben leaked it last year, as part of a larger post:
Something I have heard for a while now is that a new Wild Arms game is in development but it has been over a year long journey getting that verified. I still struggle to get definite enough confirmation but I think it might have been because I heard about it too early.
A month later he mentions that the developer was MediaVision and that the game was in development for PS4:
I don't know much other than that it apparently is in development by Media Vision for PS4. I haven't been told anything specific yet at least.

I do wonder if Sony might try and shift over to push it as a PS5 launch game or something if they don't reveal it this year [...] but that's simply speculation on my behalf.
It is known that MediaVision is working on a RPG exclusive to the PS4 since 2018 thanks to a series of job listings. Also, if you recall ZhugeEX's comments on ResetEra early last year, he mentioned that a couple of unannounced PS4 exclusives based on existing IPs were made cross-gen releases or moved entirely to the PS5. The new Wild Arms could very well be one of those titles.
In addition to this, we know that MediaVision has been growing their staff count a lot during the last year or so.

Only ones that might make it to launch window from your list are Demon's Souls and Gran Turismo 7 at this rate.
Why? I mean, most of those games have been in development since around 2017, with a couple of them being in the works since 2016 and the Japan Studio space game from even before that. Of course plans could change and delays happen, but I think that all of them have chances of releasing during the said window.

I would very much love a Wild Arms, but I would like them to move the series more to the first 3 then the last couple of them. Thanks for the info.

I hope they don't do an online stream/video for the reveal like the Xperia 1 II had. That guy talking to a crowd that clearly wasn't there just felt super-awkward.

Keep the UV lights away. There may be DNA. Lol
I'll keep an eye out for DNA evidence as well a check for any viruses, who knows Xbox or Ps4 dust particles may contain the answer in curing COVID and saving these game conventions from getting cancelled so we can resume this pointless bickering on what's the better system.

In my opinion MS/Xbox constantly fails on their advertising, but like you, I seriously LOVE Game Pass on twitter.

Sorry to derail - back to flop wars :messenger_beaming:

False. All devices hold some power when plugged in. Does not mean it's in standby. I guess your hair dryer is in standby mode because its plugged in and drawing some power while off. Jesus.
You absolutely, 100% can cold boot, without unplugging, and completely clear all cache like it's been unplugged for a bit. You can also do this while on and rebooting.

You dont know how to do this and are completely misinforming people. If you want to ask nicely and apologize to these fine folks for misleading them, I'd be glad to educate you on this incredible secret. 🤭
False and false lol

First a lot of devices turn off even when plugged on energy but it is not the Xbox One case that still have some functional stand by features even when “turned off”.

Second false statement is about cold boot... it only exists if there is no energy “passing” thought the circuits and again it is not the case of Xbox One when plugged in energy... what you described is a warm boot.

I will teach you just one more time... to cold boot Xbox One there is only one way... plug the console off from the energy, wait from 10-30s to guarantee there is no more energy on the circuits and finally plug again the console on energy to have a cold boot.

You are another that have no ideia what is cold boot.

You did not asked what is faster lol
You questioned you need cable.

No. You don’t need any cable to pair a new controller on PS4.

Genuinely asking, can anyone tell me why it seems to be assumed that the PS5 and XSX have a monolithic APU/SoC type setup and not a separate CPU/GPU like in the PS3 and 360? Has it ever been confirmed that either have an APU?

Because it is cheaper.
The only reason to use an mobile APU over dedicated chip is due the costs driving the console way expensive to consumers.

LOL. A practical joke from Reee. People should know better than believing random pastebins.

It wasn't from Ree. I created the paste and naturally was the first to post it. With no news coming from Sony my intent was to infuse some humor into this thread and without a doubt the pages running up to 2pm gave everyone a well needed laugh.

So you want a device that is powered off but it is powered on?
There is two states:

On: your device is using energy
Off: your device is not using energy

PS4 has two states with two sub-states for On:
- Off: PS4 is off.
- On Stand By: PS4 is on and can do background tasks and even charger USB devices.
- On Full On: PS4 is fully running for everything even play games.

Xbox One has only the On state with three sub-state:
- On Stand By: console is on waiting a boot and can charge USB.
- On Instant On: console is on for background tasks and all.
- On Fully On: XB1 can play games and do everything else.

You want PS4 to add another power state? That is what understood.
But that is definitively no Off.

On Stand By (rest mode) for PS4 works similar to On Stand By or On Instant On on XB1.
You are not using the XB1 off if it is changing your constoller.

This is not true, there is a way to fully turn off your Xbox one but it required trial and error for me to find the exact right power settings combinations.

The fans on the rear of the console will shut off completely along with the USB ports if you’ve done it successfully.

The first time I had an external drive I didn’t want the platter spinning 24/7 and didn’t want to have to unplug it all the time. I don’t think Microsoft advertises the true off state, I found about the settings advice when searching & someone else was also looking to completely power off the USB ports.

Edit: I tried replicating it, but so far I’m still getting power. The settings menu layout has changed since I last tested. You had to do something weird like select leave external storage checked as enabled in instant-on *before* disabling instant on to get the power off. Was probably not intentional by Xbox and maybe it’s been patched. I remember it vividly because I shared the steps of the process with someone else at the time.

Holding down the power button for 15 seconds does the same thing as unplugging the console as IN THE CONTEXT of what the poster you was talking to wants. If you are talking strictly dissipating capacitors and such...ok...but you know damn well we are referring to any possible software control or residuals in caches and memory. Which is why I said you are just fucking with him, but you are deliberately trying to be misleading. Stop it, ET. Lol.

Also, 20-30 sec isnt enough. It could take quite a while to truly dissipate the internals. You could, however, unplug the system and hold down power button for 10 sec. THEN it's completely refreshed. But this was never the topic. Lol.

Pro Tip: It is also possible to clear caches and memories like an unplug without getting out of your seat. Clearing Alternate MAC in advanced network settings has to reboot the console in a clear state to clear MAC properly. I do this anytime before I play competitively as it'll clear up any memory leaks or hitches(it is windows, lol) from using the console for entertainment apps and switching.

Idk it seems like the XSX has basically a Ryzen 3700X and a significantly bigger GPU than the AMD 5700XT. These are high end desktop parts(especially the GPU). Can they really fit both on a single die? For comparison the XB1 and PS4 had APUs comprised of a shitty laptop CPU and mid-range GPU.

I think he's saying if you're powering USB, then the console is in a state of low power/standby, not fully "off". It's not bypassing the Xbox's internals and going directly to the power.

Anyway we've talked enough about this gens consoles powering USB stuff lol, they both do it.

Navi uses DCU (not to be confused with the terrible WB movies) which I think is able to fit more CUs in the same space. I could be talking out of my ass though because I just skim through things :messenger_grinning_sweat:
