Lol I’m preparing for an 8 TF Vega PS5 just in case so I’m not disappointed. 13 TF RDNA2 PS5? Yeah, like that will happen.
I see people saying Klee confirmed 12TF back in December, and it makes him 100% legit (although it is after WC and PS said it days before), but what do we make of this leak?
It was first leak with exact numbers (4TF/12GB for Lockhart, 12TF/16GB for Anaconda and 8+TF for PS5 - all Navi based).
Now, we know his numbers for Lockhaet and Anaconda are spot on, but funnily enough this was first leak with specific numbers and them being right is pretty crazy. So what do we make of it?

I did not check here the last few days, then saw a big jump of 40+ pages. I thought something interesting came. Then proceed to read them. Oh my...... not sure where to start, but if I look before when I was a fanboy, then yes I understand why people want one console with more TF than the other. So nothing new came and people go back to github, 9.2tf - 14 tf, and attacking each another.
Thank God I am no longer like that, I will just enjoy the games and that is all. At the end of the day only after Sony release the specs, no one even insiders will have the last say. Even I as the only, ultimate insider with a proven record of never failing on any of my predictions "subjectively speaking".

After all the hype for the Series X console and all the 9.2TF (is that all you got) ribbings......When Cerny comes on stage and releases the Kraken, I fear this will be one of the most hyped times on GAF......and also very sorrowful for others sadly.....I can't wait......Some people have hyped XBOX to the stratosphere and convinced themselves that PS will never measure up......Man this year, I suspect will be really great....

Looking at the date (jan 15, 2019), its curious how this fella got right.

Microsoft already proved that 12tf is possible, so if is possible to Microsoft it's also possible to Sony, you guys should discuss the motives that could make Sony avoid to go with a 12+ tf machine, not if Sony can do something at this level, this restriction does not exist. You should think about market strategies, not in technical limitations. At least something around 12 is possible.

Most of the people in the industry said that Sony's plans changed in 2018. So that information was correct before the changes, but outdated in 2019.
If you look, the same leak makes mention that he knows a lot more of the plans of MS than of Sony.
Why would people believe that everyone who has connections would be lying to us?

But what show is Sony going to show it off? They've already stated they're skipping every key show for the first half of the year. Even E3 2020 was shot down, and that was before coronavirus even took off.
SeX at 12tf RDNA 2 seems pretty solid. At most, PS5 will be give or take a bit more or less than SeX. The chances of PS5 being let's say 16tf RDNA 2 for a 30-40% advantage like PS4 vs Xbox One is zero. And everyone knows that.
So when both systems launch, it will either be really close, or PS5 really is 9.2tf for a 30-40% gain for SeX.

Jason said they played around with 2019 release but decided 2020 all the way back in 2017, so I dont think they delayed it in 2018.
In fact, there was a Kotaku article by Jason in mid 2018 where he said no one has even heard about PS5 releasing, let alone 2019 being the date.

Its about you missing the logic. They can go higher duo to covering low end with Lockhart. If Sony had 2 SKU strat I would say its anyones game, but with 1 SKU you have to cover lower end as well and hit price sweetspot, with 2 you do not have to.
In that sense, Sony is already in deficit. Shot for $500 console at loss and you get MS releasing Lockhart to masses for ~150$ less, its extremely tricky position to be in for Sony (that has 1/3 of their revenue coming from consoles).

No one is saying Sony couldn’t make a 12 TF machine. Hell, they could make a 17 TF RDNA 2.0 PS5 if they wanted to. It all comes down to cost. I’m far from an expert on such matters, but they can’t will the PS5 into existence.

Hey did you see my posts......I said the same thing sometime last week in one of those threads......Motorstorm CG in realtime on PS5 will look amazing.....I actually think Guerilla can easily do much better than the Killzone sped up trailer in realtime, since they got so close with KZ2.....

Ha, So you can't see PS5 having a 30-40% percent advantage launching at the same time as Series X, which Sony already showed it can do in 2013, so there's precedence there...... but you can indeed see the Series X having a 30-40% advantage because 9.2TF, where there is no precedence......I like the logic there.....

if the SX was revealed to be 9.2TF a 12TF PS5 would have been possible but being above 12TF would be ridiculously pricey
Tommy Fisher said he'd do a self ban if there was no PS5 announcement in February, a guarantee he made. I doubt he'll ban himself tommorow. I think MS knows they can't offer the same prices Sony can on hardware......In 2013, a more powerful console was cheaper by $100......Their two Sku system in no way interrupts Sony's hardware ambitions or interrupts it......I don't think MS's high end SKU affects how powerful a single console PS5 will be......PS5 won't be less powerful just because MS has two sku's…...
From where I'm sitting, I think MS is going two sku's because they know their console will be more expensive even if it's less powerful, they don't have the hardware chops, connections and partners Sony has in that realm.....They simply don't want to have a more expensive or same priced console to go against Sony, they know they will lose in each scenario......Their lower end SKU may be a lower priced option they think will pull people into their eco-system.....They've already done, less powerful and more expensive, that clearly doesn't work, they've done more powerful a year later at the same $500 price, they seen that does not work, so they are trying premium console + cheaper console and leaving it in the hands of gamers, yet they've already tied their legs with no exclusives......
If anything, I think Lockhart maybe a replacement of XBONEX with a better CPU and a more efficient GPU......So maybe 8 core Ryzen APU with between 5500-5600XT visuals....
