He is a pixel counter and analyses graphic effects but is not that technical its clear... but thinks he knows how games work and makes bold statements (often wrongly). He should stick to analysing images.

I was jibing at the constant mnemonics and marketing buzzzwords used by PR departments. I imagine someone is in charge of making cool sounding names for things lol.
MS often seem to take features used by everybody else and give it their own name for DX12 and we have to read through pages of crap to figure out whats changed, if anything.

Yeah make sense to lock always some specific games because if not for example If I have a blueprint in Unreal Engine which is function is recover
my life after of be hurt and this called for the Event Tick (bad practice I know).
If you console allow you to force to increment my framerate then you will see how the game is much easier.
It would be the last straw that they did not look better than the base console.
But seriously you are going to tell me that Gears 5 and RDR 2 are the best graphics games in every section on consoles, I say in the end both games run on a console
almost 50% more powerful than the PS4 pro.

Most likely, the games that released since 2018 by first party and major publishers will work on PS5 without problems as these developers already has Div Kits since 2018 and already ported their engines. I think Sony will work harder on those smaller studio games. Xbox has been doing the same for the last 3 years.

Which is why most Xbox One X games do run in native 4K with higher settings, while the PS4 Pro is scaled up. Just like you could see a difference between the PS4 and Xbox One S. First one could render most games native in 1080p, while Xbox One S a lot of times was also 900p, and the games ran on lower settings.

I'm assuming the most probable scenario (there's very little chance MS would show unpatched games on XSX). These were most likely xbox one x games and to your knowledge Xbox One X has 12 GB in totall. MS stressed they wanted to build SSD that can sustain 2.4 GB/s data transfer and it looks like they did it, because it takes around 5 seconds to fill 12 GB RAM from BC game save state.
PS5 I/O will move data even faster (around 2.5x faster), but you want to suggest PS5 SSD will be over 100x times faster LOL

I'm not sure why you keep posting those times. You figure 5GB out, 5GB in each time, you're looking at 4 seconds minimum, even if you limit the scope to just the reading/writing (there'd be more going on than that). That information isn't really indicative of anything, good or bad. If they are running compression on the writes, that could be using more of the time than the reads, we don't know.

Xbox one X and PS4 pro scale some games using reconstruction techniques and other only use its native resolution but that is not the point.
If for you graphics impressive are just get the same game to higher resolution and with a couple (yes a couple) of settings set from medium to high
yeah that is not for me.
The dev of Xbox studios cannot use all the potential of the Xbox one X because looks like is Phil's mandate to have all the game in 4k, so this cost a lot, also
even if the CPU is faster than the base console, the same game should run there so they have to choose which console underutilize because the Xbox one
X doesn't has the delta in CPU of 2x so they just cannot multiply the framerate to 2 and also they need to be sure to have time to do the graphics as good as they can
and then optimize for the hell is use the sdram compare the GDDR5 of Xbox one X.
I mean if you think the delta doesn't matter enough but most of the games of Xbox one X looks similar to its part almost 5 times weaker in GPU power, when this gen
ends nobody will say 'Did you remember how the Xbox one X have much better graphics than PS4 than looks like from different generations', if for you resolution is
equals to quality of graphics then we have a clear disagreement on this.

Hi all. I've been reading this thread for mor than 900 pages, but only now i finally registered to participate (and it seems like i am a bit late to the party since event is almost here). Hope there's yet plenty of stuff to discuss. Not native speaker here, so please be gentle to me, daddy.
There's thing that's been bothering me since Cerny talk and i haven't seen it been brough up here. He mentioned the ability to load only what's being shown direcly to the player. Could this mean that XSX will need to expand this loading cone to compensate its slower storage bandwidth?
And it brings another question - does these loaded assets outside of players viewport consume any GPU/CPU recourses (besides required for I/O)? Are they being drawn in any way or just kept in video memory?
