It's an excellent idea, you'll get everything you need for a great gaming experience without any big upfront cost.

I don't think Sony can offer the same since PS Now isn't nearly as good as Game Pass for modern games.

It wouldn't take much for them to improve the value proposition for PSNow as a direct response to xCloud/gamepass.

I'd wager they'd want to compete at the very least.

Right out of the gate and the current state of the tools, I expect this with everything enabled.

As tools and solutions mature, I expect it to improve as well. Even Crytek had some decent success with just software RT on AMD cards when optimized in tech demos.

PC will always have an advantage, it’s a modular platform of brute forcing, but I would think this would improve over time on consoles compared to whatever measurement your sources are taking now.

Personally, I don’t need full blown RT, but piecemeal with combined rasterization techniques. Shadows and some AO uses with the rest being raster would still be a leap over now, with not as much of a hit compared to full blown RT everything.

Last shot is the creature kneeling on the other side of the door putting one hand to the blood (creature has four arms) then smelling it. "I have found you." He almost sings the words then the title screen shows and that's it.

Lets see if anyone else can get this detailed. It is the best looking anything that I have ever seen and the character models lighting and physics are on another level. The main character is impossible to confuse with anyone else and this game has not been revealed but I have hinted at it several times. This is not a cut scene or a render target it is actual game play and it is very impressive. Well the end is a cut scene but man ..... You literally cannot tell the difference and Yes



This was definitely all one shot.

Edited to add: I was just given the go ahead to post this and it is from an early vertical slice that I did get to see.
And before anyone asks No I cannot describe what the man is wearing because it would be a dead giveaway.

This posts is talking about a new The Order 1887 on next gen consoles.

If Ready at Dawn again focuses on story telling over all out action they could allocate a whole lot of resources to visuals which would again set a benchmark for next gen visuals as The Order 1886 has done at the start of this gen.

Ray tracing seems a perfect fit for a game like The Order with its unique atmosphere of dirty, grimy industrial revolution London city.

I think people will be surprised by how much of that trailer is actual game play. As far as other games yes I have seen a bit of two from one studio and one from another. One is a sequel, the other is Sci Fi and from the same studio. The third is going to be KILLER when it releases. The sequel is the best looking game I have ever seen and I have been hinting at it constantly. I have never seen anything that looks this good on ANY platform. If its not the new graphical standard I have no idea what will be.



Stated before and still standing on it, I haven't heard anything about PS1,2 or 3 Bc. Not saying it isn't happening just saying that if it is I haven't heard anything at all about it. Only heard about PS4 Bc.

I don't think it's The Order guys since they're working on a brand new IP (they confirmed it last year) and just noticed this on RAD website:

"We’re currently creating games for both AAA console and virtual reality audiences.."

So it probably is multiplatform.

Sony has proven that they are comfortable taking a deeper loss on their HW when compared to MS. They took a ~$300 loss on the PS3 because they knew an entry point of $599 would kill them completely. They definitely don't want to take that kind of hit anymore, which they won't have to now with the way they are making these consoles. They had the more powerful system this gen, yet priced it at $399 vs MS's $499. Same thing happened with the Pro, only the X was more powerful because it came a year later. MS could have taken the hit and priced their systems at the same price as the PS4, but they didn't.

Gaming isn't as big of a deal to MS as it is to Sony. PS is one of Sony's main pillars for the company, so they need their system to take off. At the beginning of this gen, Bill Gates said he would be fine with getting rid of Xbox, like some shareholders wanted. I think Nadella wants to see if he can make a big success with Xbox, whether it be through streaming or HW or both, since this will be the first gen that will start with him as CEO. Still, don't expect him to ok losing billions to push HW, as he won't want those shareholders breathing down his neck like they did Balmer and Gates.

Now that they are using semi-custom off the shelf parts, there's no way that the PS5 is going to cost ~$800, like the PS3 did. Or even $700-$750, which is what it would have to cost for them to even consider pricing it at $599. I mean, how much do you expect the parts to cost to get you to that manufacturing price when you take into consideration bulk discounts? Just guesses here, but RAM might be $125. Maybe $150 for the SDD. Let's say everything else, minus the APU itself, costs $125. That's $400. That would leave $100 for the APU, IF they were just trying to break even. Considering they will most likely take a $100-$150 hit, that's more like $200-$250 left over for their APU.

That leak sounds straight up fantasy but if it turns out to be true for some bizarre reason, i dont know how i'd feel about that conference.

1) demon souls remaster sounds cool. especially if it has deep down visuals.
2) ariel and vehicle combat in uncharted and ratchet? yes please.
3) kz mp with 80 player maps and massive destruction? omfg yes.
4) tlou factions? sonys first gaas game with pve? all over my face. though not a fan of it being cross gen. lets ditch this gen for good please. learn from MS's mistakes sony, dont copy them ffs.
5) now end with horizon teaser? nope. that needs to be the launch title. kz, ratchet and demo souls arent going to do anything against halo. you need that one big game that defines that generation. i'd rather they focus on getting horizon 2 out on day 1 then some mp only games with remasters that simply wont set the bar you need to set at launch.
6) good to know gt7 wont be cross gen like forza. thank god. this will be the first test for MS's cross gen strategy. we will see what differences cross gen vs next gen exclusives might have next gen.
7) i like sony reinvesting in multiplayer. fucking finally. after an entire gen of bitching they are finally doing this. i really hope this leak is true because this is what ive been asking for all gen. im so tired of playing bad mp games with devs who have no clue wtf they are doing. respawn drastically slowing down titanfall's combat in TF2 mp. DICE butchering BFV after the fantastic BF1. Bungie repeatedly fucking up over and over again for 6 fucking years. Bioware fucking up anthem; division 2, ghost recon, blops 4. its been an entire generation of devs contiuining to fuck up. we need sony devs from the kz, resistance and tlou teams to turn up and show third party devs how to do online games.
8) two pc ports. both online only. i can live with that.
9) not many third party games. i have zero faith in ac ragnorak and its likely cross gen so fuck that. i expected to hear about gta6 and rocksteady's superman game but i guess even for fake leakers, thats a bridge too far.
10) still, if they start with horizon 2 and make it a big demo then this will be the greatest conference of all time. we have heard rumors of pretty much all of these games so even if this leak is total bs we will still see most of these games sometime next gen. but if we get them all in one conference along with bc with ray tracing then my god.
