Keep in mind that Stadia isn't dead yet (despite what is posted here) and their specs are easily upgraded at any time. Let's say Sony has the power advantage and they are bragging, bragging, bragging. What happens when Stadia waits a bit to give Sony time to make those numbers stick in the minds of consumers and then doubles those numbers on their platform? Not the best look for Sony, tbh. Both companies could stay silent on hard numbers, in which case someone with the lead would also be silent.

Well, they are not delivering anything better than Xbox One X today anyways.

Brah... Brah... I’m just saying what’s been said in all the leaks. It seems to be the most commonly repeated thing said. That’s why I’m interested in knowing what’s going on, because I don’t quite understand it.

I’m still firmly in team SX > PS5. Not by much, not by anything that will ever matter in any sense of the word. That’s exactly how I want it, as well, so that both are on par. But god help MS if they price it higher. If they had any sense they would price it lower.

I know. Just get hooked on semantics at times.

Pricing-wise neither one's gonna go over $500, and they'll hit between $400 and $500 depending on specs and/or willingness to use subscription and digital software revenue to pick up on any additional losses the hardware takes selling at whatever prices they set 'em.

We can guess, but even the die size has to be guessed at because the picture is at an angle with nothing clear for scale. And beyond that, we don't know how much of the Die is the CPU clusters/embedded memory cache/RT stuff.

Actually I will answer that as honestly as I can.

Back a couple of weeks ago not sure on the timing without looking at my texts my buddy at SIE sent me a text saying he was hearing no Feb big reveal look for a State of Play that shows the box maybe a couple of game demos.

He also said we wont hear about TFs anytime soon as neither company wants to talk TFs because as he said one was 9.5 ish and the other 10.

I even brought it up here several days ago (again do not know exact date without looking at posts) about a State of Play instead of a full reveal how people would feel after I heard that from my buddy.

I had also posted the impact tremor gif a day or two before the official Sony skipping E3 as he told me that day I made that post we would be getting that very info.

So to answer your question a few weeks ago I was firmly in the 12 tf camp but the longer it goes we do not hear about a full reveal the more I am putting faith into my crazy little birdie friend as being right.

Well to be fair, if the GPU in the ps5 is better the gate will look nicer, bit if the cpu in the SX is better, the gates going to have some kick ass physics.

Why is he right if Sony does not give data? MS didn't,they didn't said "Series X is 12TF RDNA",they where vague as could have been.

I do not mean the TLOPS, Heisenberg has commented that he has heard that Xbox is slightly more powerful than PS5, while Klee, Osiris and Tommy have argued that PS5 is slightly more powerful than Xbox.

Google can’t just upgrade at anytime. They have a proprietary setup. And anything they do will have a cost, just as a console would.

Stadia already has multi GPU support in a master/slave configuration (up to 4 I believe), This won't be that efficient, but if they really wanted to play a numbers game, they already have that capability. Again, I"m talking about advertising and public perception amongst consumers, not the real-world results. They've also said that their hardware will be iterative as technology becomes available.

It will be interesting to see if Stadia shows any signs of life when the free version hits. from what I've seen the games are just too overpriced, never mind the performance issues.

10TF doesn’t make sense for Xbox as we have seen the size of the chip, and the box it’s going in. It will be clocked around the sweet spot which points to around 12TF.

PS5 could be anything right now from 8.5TF to something similar to the Xbox.

I’m not sure we are in disagreement. Multi GPU support comes at a price, and it will most certainly be passed on to the consumer. If you give a streaming customer 4 GPUs, he’s eating up a lot of power at googles end. Multiply that by thousands of people or more, and it will be costly. Yes they can advertise that against Sony and MS, but we all know they can’t possibly deliver to everyone, and at the standard price.

The die is surrounded by standard parts of known dimensions. Those who calculated the size are estimating based on those components and the size of the APU. This is not assuming, it’s estimation. Probably within 5% of actual size if done correctly.
