Wait, Lockhart is the loud console?Dude, he literally brain reacted the post saying it was Lockhart, which makes sense, it has no business being loud at 4TF.
Wait, Lockhart is in devs hands?
The fuck?

Well if we are talking $500 to $600 for a ps5 then we are definitely not looking at a 9.2Tflop console.
I’m ok with a reasonable amount of noise, but can be heard from across the room? Fuck me, better be a damn small room.
Anyway, I’m still in the $400 to $500 (max) cost and 12 +/- Tflops camp for ps5. No Pro at release and stacked HBM memory (no clue how much, 16 to 24GB range?).
I have some chlorophyll we can put to good use.Catch and question him when he comes back all wasted and get him to spill the beans!!
Hehehe.
He didn't just hint at it, he straight up claimed it was loud, which isn't surprising at all since Sony has a history of loud consoles. It would be extremely surprising if Lockhart ends up being loud. Series X is already confirmed to be whisper quiet. But as was mentioned here already he hinted at PS5 being loud in another post.
Yep. Microsoft is not known for making loud consoles while Sony is.He didn't just hint at it, he straight up claimed it was loud.

Isn't Lockhart just a trojan to boost initial sales until the big boys drop in price and gamepass?Cross-gen won't last long, if it does the old consoles are still anchors. Lockhart is probably set to limp through the generation.
oh shit you are brutal dude! We don’t want to knock him out or torture him (well maybe a little torture to get back at him for not just being straight up with us). We just want some real answers!!!I have some chlorophyll we can put to good use.
Do we need vaseline and safety boots too? No?...

His mention of the PS5 dev kit being loud was linked a few posts back.He did not say anything about Sony,
He even reacted to this...

I think that was a link to Tommy Fisher, who at this point should not be taken seriously at allHis mention of the PS5 dev kit being loud was linked a few posts back.
He did not say anything about Sony, it was literally in the same sentence were they were complaining about Lockhart.
He even reacted to this...

Tommy Fisher says PS5's noise is about the same or slightly worse than Series X, he also hinted the BOM for PS5 is $600 with $100 loss.

Next-Gen PS5 & XSX |OT| Console tEch threaD
The one thing that keeps me from fully buying into Klee was when he said people will probably be disappointment by the numbers (I can’t find where he said it now but I know I read it.) Then he says the 12tf number isn’t a surprise to him. Who in their right mind was going to be disappointed by...www.neogaf.com
No, it was Osiris. I agree though, there's no reason to take TF seriously.I think that was a link to Tommy Fisher, who at this point should not be taken seriously at all

Quote which post you are talking about, because I must have missed that one.
A mod said he couldn’t be vetted cause he lacked sufficient information. You think his info is still good?
Go for it if you want to do it mate

[Digital Foundry] PlayStation 5/ Xbox Series X New GPU Spec Leak Analysis: 9.2TF vs 12TF?
It either resembles the retail chip, or it’s an early test chip for Sony to get working on backward compatibility. And the real chip is better. Let’s hope for the latter. Keep in mind the docs are only 6-7 months old. Highly unlikely anything drastic would change with out a launch delay They...www.neogaf.com

I want to start with saying that I agree with what you're saying. I can see why the cheaper console could in theory be loud though. Microsoft may put less money in the cooling aspects of the console, thus making it hotter and louder. In the end though, I feel that its the playstation that will be the loudest of the 3 consoles.Yea.. I find it hard to swallow that Microsoft, who has consistently made super quiet consoles since xbox one, is suddenly now making a really loud lower end next gen console. Also, the xbox one x dev kit served as a dev kit for practically all xbox one era consoles. Microsoft designed it that way due to the ability in place to target all the systems from just the one dev kit and their toolset is designed that way. Why send a second dev kit for lockhart when they can simply utilize the one series x dev kit using the same exact method (architectures between the two are practically identical in every way with the exception of ram and GPU power). Hell, if xbox one x dev kits could simulate performance for xbox one s and og xbox one, why can't the series x dev kit also do the same?
I don't think Microsoft is really sending out a lockhart dev kit. I think the series x dev kit IS the lockhart dev kit.
I've put one together, let me know if I'm missing any obvious.

Most multi-plats are on PC, weak hardware is everywhere there. But, I guess they don't bother to optimize for the lower cards on PC.

Still don't think there's gonna be anything too notable from this event
Like I always like to remind people too, max sequential transfer rates of SSDs took all the air out of the room and have simplified things like Gflops have, but there's more to them. How does the drive do on a batch of mixed file sizes, how much does performance tank on unpredictable random access, etc etc. Maybe "faster" never meant a peak theoretical speed either, the patents about controller SRAM for table lookup and the possibility of software defined storage are things that maximize IOPS, not necessarily moving one massive file at peak speed.
PS5 stronger than SX
PS5 louder than SX
Lockhart is a pain in the ass
These are all old leaks. PS5 was said to be slightly more powerful than SX. So much so that Matt (reliable insider that used to post here) would guess that it's going to be stronger in the end.
Sorry mate. Was just kidding. I really didn't intend to come across as aggressive. It was just all jokes. All in good fun
Well done mate, nothing is missing at all.I've put one together, let me know if I'm missing anything obvious.

Microsoft: "We have the Power!"
While 80% of the consumers play the inferior version of games on Lockhart.
I swear it's like a requirement for legitimacy. I picture the scenario goes something like this:With all these phenomenal phones out there that can take a picture of a rat’s asshole at 300 yards, why are they always blurry potato cams with these photos?
You know what ... Fuck it I hear people generally just don't like working for the weaker X console and two of the three machines are hotter than they need to be and one is very loud. Like can be heard across the room loud. Hoping its a early product problem and wont be an issue when they go into mass production. Unless the big boys eat $100 you're looking at a $600 premium console.
Microsoft fronts about caring for consumers but then goes and makes a console with 4 tflops that most of their consumers will play on. It's not about choice, it's just marketing and PR.And yet the ones who want the most powerful version where the games will look and play best will have it. isn't that nice? Choice!

The main course is expensive as hell (Michael Pachter isn't right but he aint wrong) it's loud and hot in the kitchen.
Are you farting?....

FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
But apparently that’s not happening according to most insiders . Xbox will have 2 skus below ps5 which is indeed weird and messed up .And yet the ones who want the most powerful version where the games will look and play best will have it. isn't that nice? Choice!
What was the TF in that leak ?This (osiris' info) comes in line with that pastebin which said that ps5 is 'loud as fuck'. The dev kit at least. Hopefully the final product will have better cooling.
But seriously, after the loud ps4 and the complaints about the noise, Sony making an even louder console would be nothing less than a colossal clusterfuck.
Well, time to drill some holes again, I guess.![]()
