the exact quote states they are looking forward to RDNA2 and RayTracing, and on the same note they said both consoles have raytracing. this in no way conclusively says both consoles use RDNA2, and again, it doesn't matter. the only difference you would most likely see is in power consumption in the end of the day.

I find it quite funny to - Both Sony and MS are not designing GPU specfically, thats AMD IMO.
IMO, Both MS and Sony will "work with designers" however with custom silcon, but in reality its asking for part off a shelf with a few tweaks (done by AMD). The difference will be in the software that runs the chip and it may sound as if hey Sony or MS did RDNA or RDNA2, no they chose it from the shelf and wrote drivers or API software.
Even funnier is claiming a design must be 7nm+, it does not have to be tied to a process. I think both wiil use the most cost effective 7nm available., and the better + or 5nm willl be the top end cards and not consoles.

Yep, ray-tracing support comes from RDNA 2 and XSX is confirmed to be RDNA 2 yet somehow PS5 with HW-based RT support is RDNA 1 to them.

RDNA1 with VRS and RT will most likely be indistinguishable in real world performance from RDNA2... they simply just never stated they use RDNA2 and neither did AMD, that's all I'm saying.

The funny thing is that I've seen this kind of pollution map before, showing the difference. Happens annually around Chinese New Year, I believe it is. So might be a bit longer due to Coronavirus but definitely isn't ALL because of it. At least in my non-medical/non-industrial opinion.
The good news is they've started going back to work .. how we know ? satellite data shows pollution levels are going back up .. so that's a good thing then I suppose ...

No, bro. AMD did state for XSX (when it was still called Project Scarlett) back in June 2019, that its GPU is powered by Navi based on next-gen RDNA i.e. RDNA 2.

Now if we were talking final devkit and/or retail unit then I'm sure we could get the fancy bears on the case if we all chipped in I would like to see Tommy vetted though if the picture is proven true, cannot really argue a guy doesn't have sources if he appears to have been sent or taken himself images of retail controllers for an unreleased console.
Not that it's happening, because it isn't, last time it was announced in the evening, probs another 3 to 4 hours to wait if it was happening.

what we had was Microsoft and AMD referring to it as Next Generation RDNA, which is a term they used when talking about RDNA2 tho. we all just thought that was PR speak and what they meant is that RDNA in intself is the "next generation" part compared to the older architecures used in the current consoles.

Ok, I am going to post two pics and I am waiting on more (back, triggers and light bar). I compared measurements to the current DS4, and it appears the grips on this mockup/prototype/or elaborate fake are indeed fatter. One thing that is making me a little suspicious, is that the connection ports are the same as the DS4, but that could be for legacy usage, and the extra "hole" Cerny mentioned does not appear to be present like the patent pictures. Now that could be either moved to a different location, thus waiting on more pics.
Otherwise, outside of a few minor perceivable aesthetic differences, it appears to look the same. And why on a Vaio? I thought they were out of production, at least with the Sony branding, no?
