Just knowing PS5 can be pretty standing either vertically or horizontally while a horizontal XSX is ugly as f... is quite telling.

At the end of day i can understand your concerns.
for reference I prefer Sony over Xbox, however i am considering a lockheart for a possible purchase too.
I like this forum due to its good nature and abundance of humour that alot of people have/share
People can take it to far sometimes, sometimes i feel like i do, but i never mean it as spiteful or nefarious in nature.
I think that is the best way to take it.
In the end we are all gamer's and that should unite us.

Evening folks, so the mods have been chatting about the future of this and a few other threads in the same vein. Most of the rich details have now been revealed and we are looking to reboot the thread - maybe after the MS 1st party event. We're looking for a few people to overhaul the opening post and make fair cases and summaries for both platforms. Ideally this would be a collaboration between xbox/sony fans or people who are impartial and can do a pretty thorough job in being fair and objective. We realise this is a heavily linked thread so we're not making this decision lightly. It will also ideally serve as an amnesty for the scalps it has claimed, as things went a bit crazy. We thought we'd drop the suggestion here and see what people make of it first though?

Well, PS5 is obviously designed with both stances in mind, more like a console. Microsoft went for the PC design, and yeah, horizontally it doesn't look great.

I upgraded to a x570-e Gaming mobo last week. Currently have 3700x CPU but will upgrade to Zen 3 when they come out. Gonna get a 3080 once Nvidia drops the next round. Next-gen rig coming together slowly but steadily

Guys for scaling to be correct in ratio, the camera used for taking pack shots need to be same Megapixel as in resolution, or else the pixel to cm/inch ratio is distorted... and that limits you to scale only within the same picture, so scale each console to USB port and try to guesstimate the size of the unit, BUT do not I repeat DO NOT scale cross pictures, as in put the USB as same size in each picture and try to scale multitude of consoles based on that, it will be wrong!

Look at xbox 360, it needs to be much closer to X1 than Slim version but it stays right in between in (completely wrong) scale....

Just look at how PS4 Pro with 29,5 cm tall on its side is supposed to be taller than 31cm tall XSX and try holding your laugh....

If anyone here had played Death Stranding, they might have seen this in the bunker, there is a mirror that Sam looks into and takes pics, and here fps tanks because it is using ray traced reflections with no hw accelerators, but on standard Compute Units.

The real reason why some Xbox users dont post here anymore is because there are a lot of PS5 good news lately.
And because the 12TF narrative has been totally dissipated:
1. Because it is an artificial argument to measure the real performance of a console, as a lot of REAL devs have pointed out.
2. Because MS, at the moment, did not give their "warriors" any tangible proof to back that "12TF more powerful console ever" statement. Where is the next gen SX gameplay to back that up?
I really hope MS can show something really good in their next event. I know that it is funny to laught at MS or Sony sometimes, but want to see them failing is to have a very short sight in my opinion.
The end user, the regular Joe, gamers in general who pay for their consoles is what it should be really matter for all of us.

The XSX has dedicated hardware combined with DXR. I might be jumping the gun but pretty sure that we'll see RT in the games showed in July, and I even dare to say better and more advanced than what we've seen in PS5 games, but that last bit is fanboyism.

Not the best examples, let's see what happens in sports and politics...Unfortunately. It would be cool if more users where keeping things healthy. People usually don't fight for choosing Netflix over HBO or McDonalds over KFC. Why should it be different for XBOX and Sony.

I'm actually OK with a thread that is dedicated to all the information that's released from the manufacturers. Alot of people want to have discussions on what's been confirmed and that's difficult to do in this speculation thread since everything tends to get really mixed up here.
However I do recommend keeping this thread open and only for those who truly want to speculate on anything that hasn't really been confirmed yet.

Anybody that has the least passion about cars would love GT i would say.
As for the gameplay part, if you're used to games like Burnout or things like that, it's different, but as usual you'll get used to it. I personally found GT gameplay to be the most interesting gameplay in the Car genre, once you understand it and all the tuning features around it's gonna be as french says: "pure caviar"

There was another FUD image being used on REE that I was aware of. Someone had photoshopped the PS5 on its side and put a cutout of the stand underneath it, but made the stand look really small and lowered it so that it looked really horrible as it stuck out.

I don't think that these features of XSX will enable it to produce ray tracing to any impressive degree, considering that XSX could run Minecraft with ray traycing at only 30 frames per second...at 1080p. I think that the XSX will be able to process ray traycing better than the PS5 but not to a degree that is significantly better.

Almost agree in everything I just will add 11 TF of RDNA2 and probably even less in NVIDIA side looks like those
guys will bring a new jump even bigger than we had with Pascal (1000 gen) also I am agree should be little more in
brute force than the number in PS5 for the optimizations or 'bad' possible ports.
My only real worry in recommend something like RTX 2070 super is the VRAM available because I mean the game will use more
than 8 GB in the middle of gen for storage all its assets (used in that moment) and as the streaming space will be reduced this
memory is now more important to be same or bigger than the consoles.
And for the NVME probably most of the games in PC will require in some moment PCIe4 for some AAA or AA because the ram
is much faster but if our games will use 32 or 64 GB of memory of SSD for storage (page file) I don't think many dev will be happy
to deal again with streaming of huge quantities of GB to the RAM.
All of this to have a similar performance to a console (maybe a little better) just wow I really happy to see this ..... meanwhile in
Nintendo thinking if use GPU stronger than the old Xbox one is just too much

Just the loading times reduced will be a Godsend as I rarely venture into the dealerships as it takes so long.
The sound, well if you know your cars you've been able to tell what car is in front or the back of you for years.

Considering i will own both over time lol don't mad at me for Sony having a lackluster launch line up so far. GoT or the last of us 2 of made for a great launch title. Just like last generation GT6 should of been a ps4 game. i had a ps4 at launch but you warriors are the best i am only loyal to me and my wallet. I have gotten systems launch day from Sony to 3do. Been there done that so i can judge on what Sony announced as thier only first party launch title.

The reason most Xbox fans dont post in this thread anymore is because the specs and features of the Series X have been out for months. Microsoft left very little up to the imagination. Sony on the other hand was very quiet on that front, leaving much to be speculated on. Silence breeds speculation.
Xbox fans were out of this thread long before all of this "good news" was even revealed about the PS5. They didnt just all of a sudden stop coming by recently. It's been like this for months.
This thread has been a Sony discussion thread for a long time. Very often it degenerates into shitposting about the Xbox Discord, Timdog tweets, resetera drama, and just overall shitting on anything Xbox. I've read almost every page of this thread, trying to sift through the trash to find actual nuggets of PS5 info.
It's just not a good place to talk about Xbox. That's why you see a lot of the Xbox news being posted in other threads. Im not complaining because I still check this thread every day, but you're being really disingenuous as to the reasons why there are very few Xbox fans in this thread anymore.
Would be nice to put this thread to rest and reboot it into something where specs and analysis can actually be discussed, and something that leaves all the schoolyard shitposting and meme warring out.

Been looking at this 3D render a lot more, while it looks decent his design on some stuff is a bit off...
The backside of the console is actually much wider than he has rendered and also the white flaps he has protruding way further out than they should.
Also it looks to me like he has the drive to be way thicker than it should and the way his did the white flaps makes it looks like it has a super popped collar, not to mention that his vents don't even connect to the white flaps when you zoom in.
