Hard to believe this game is already ten years old.
Nintendo and a sale, maybe in 4 years they will do that but you know them, that ain't how Nintendo rolls.I’ll wait for a sale and for the Switch 2.
I heard this one gets good after 60 hours.
I do want to give this one another chance.
I bounced off the Wii U version after a few hours because I didn’t understand wtf was going on. I’ll use a walkthrough this time.Peeps will say it takes less, but they're full of shit. If you play this game the way that all Xenoblade games are meant to be played (by being an OCD autist clearing MMO type sidequests for dozens and dozens of hours with a sprinkle of main quest shit in between) you won't see the real meat and potatoes until you're well over 50 hours deep. Shit, it takes a good 20 just to get a grasp on how the systems work.

Used physical copy brother. No one should ever be buying digital games for a Nintendo platform.Nintendo and a sale, maybe in 4 years they will do that but you know them, that ain't how Nintendo rolls.
Maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind when I played it 10 years ago. I'll reference a guide if I'm unclear on something and don't fully understand the mechanics. That way I'm not just giving up.You shouldn't have to use one, but if you gotta, you gotta. It's a weird game for sure. Definitely the red headed step child of the franchise.
FF14 team could learn a thing or two in term of visual upgrade
The main highlight for me is the colors and the resolution. It looks so much more vibrant and clear than before. Characters' faces and UI are also a nice upgrade over the Wii U version. Lin Lee got a huge improvement, and she no longer looks like a creepy doll.I can barely tell the difference, but then again this is one of the best looking WiiU games so I wasn’t expecting much of a difference either way.
Would love to see what they can do with a sequel on Switch 2.
That would almost certainly be a no-buy from me.Xenoblade X had some of the sexiest costumes in the series IMO. I'm waiting to see if that's censored or not. It's been 10 years, and the Nintendo of today is quite different.
They don't have Monolithsoft Wizards so I doubt they will learn anything. Upgrading a 154 mile wide seamless open world JRPG that may as well be an MMO is quite a feat.FF14 team could learn a thing or two in term of visual upgrade

Never going to happen on Switch 1.Please be 60 FPS, please be 60 FPS, please be 60 FPS...
XCX is (at least for now) totally unconnected to XC 1-3. XCX is a good entry point for the series, whereas you really need to play 1&2 to get the most out of 3.I have to use the voucher soon since Switch 2 games aren't eligible. Let's say I have no idea whatsoever about the series, would this be a good point of entry, or should I get Xenoblade Chronicles 3? Is the overall gameplay close to FF12?
Is the combat better than XC2?XCX is (at least for now) totally unconnected to XC 1-3. XCX is a good entry point for the series, whereas you really need to play 1&2 to get the most out of 3.
Gameplay is sort of similar to FF XII in the sense that it’s an “offline MMO” with AI controlled party members. It’s a lot more active though. You auto-attack and you have a bunch of special moves you’ll be using off cooldown. Many of them are positional. Some will put a field on the ground that give you bonuses/healing/etc for standing in them.
Honestly it’s been so long since I played X that I’m not sure how to compare them. I feel like X was slightly more complex and less spongy. There’s a class system where every class has a melee + ranged weapon with separate move sets for each and eventually you can mix/match them. It also lets you target and destroy enemy body parts to get extra items. Is the combat better than XC2?
