Nintendo has commented on these images to the Japanese publication Sankei. “These images and videos are not official,” a representative for Nintendo told Sankei.

It’s a rare acknowledgment of internet rumours from Nintendo, however the scale of the leaked images and details of the next system may have prompted the company to respond.

Why don't they just show the damn thing then?

It's getting comical at this stage.
Give them a week.

Nintendo designs a plan and stick to it no matter what. They are not a reactive company. Some others are too reactive and embarass themselves creating podcast to damage control and Nintendo embarasses themselves by not reacting even if their biggest product for the next 6 years is being leaked for weeks bit by bit and have totally lost control of the message.

Looks like they no longer rely on a wow effect on the console itself.

Let's hope their new games will make the public ecstatic.
When have they ever done that? The Gamecube was one of if not the best looking console ever, the rest except may the Jap/Pal Snes look like shit warmed up.

At least people had no idea what to expect.

Now we have seen all possible details of the new console, even a motherboard!

I love how all the armchair marketing experts think that Nintendo's marketing departments are full of retards who never launched a product before and who never had to deal with leaks before. Chill the fuck out. There's a plan in place and Nintendo will show that thing when it's time. Play a game or two in the meantime.

Parody of actual AJUMP23
They probably only need a 2 or 3 month promotional run up. I think Switch was shown in November out in March.

This has become comical at this point. I hope the actual reveal blows my socks off with amazing game announcements or something ... otherwise, it feels like a missed opportunity.

It will be some actors playing basketball on a rooftop block party and b-roll footage of granny laughing at a TV with zero games shown.

Leaks haven’t yet made it to the mainstream, most of the specs and performance data is unknown/uncertain and they certainly haven’t lost control of the message at all.

They are dragging their heels showing this off, its annoying now just show it and give us price and pre order date later , scalpers are going to be in thier element when those preorders open up need to make that money back after failing with ps5 pro .

xmas is done now gives people some excitement and chance to put the money aside for games / console etc.

i don't understand the stubbornness to show it, it's not like anyone will be able to play it or copy it before launch anyways. makes you wonder has there been a massive mess up at manufacturing or delay with parts.

one day we will get the honour of its presence :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I would have discounted the leaks and been skeptical, except that multiple vendors showed up to CES with essentially the same thing. If these are fake, then there is a massive-coordinated effort to convince people - one that would cost these accessory manufacturers hundreds of thousands of dollars to produce. The fact that they're all showing the same stuff leads me to believe it's all real.

But yes, of course it's not "official" until Nintendo actually shows this off.

"Not official" does not mean that they are fake. It simply means the images are not official from Nintendo. Video game companies love mincing their words carefully and you always need to read between the lines.

I miss the days of Nintendo ON, oval NX mock up leaks with people trying to geolocate based off a tree out the leakers window etc... Even watching the mini dvd for gamecube being reported on from ces (or similar) was much more exciting.

This is all so meh. It makes me think these mock ups are true or very close physically.
