I used an Apple TV for years before getting my Sony TV. I tried out the android OS and it works perfectly. I don't even use Google. I created a Google account just for the TV, set the TV to "apps only" mode, and its pretty much just like the Apple TV (no ads, etc). I use it for Plex and Youtube.

I just think its insanely slow compared to an Apple TV, and Yes i know of course the stand alone device is better, but my god even changing the input or doing the sleep timer is a pain in the ass cuz the menu is so slow. The LG os is so snappy.

I pulled the trigger on a Bravia A95L yesterday. Holy shitballs, what an amazing TV. Especially coming from a 10 year old 1080P LED.

LG C series. I've had a C1 for 4 years now and its still blows me away.

For console gaming? Samsung, easily. Samsung has Game Motion+ which works great with 30 fps and 60 fps games.

Yeah, it is great. I got the 65". I sit about 6-8 feet away so it is perfect.
