I don’t have any experience with Onimusha series, I definitely want to play before this games comes…..I have lots time since coming 2026…..fuck me….I wish it was in 2025.
You can get Onimusha Warlords the first one on Steam. The others you'll need to pick up the consoles to play. Early Onimusha I'd describe as Resident Evil with Swords it later evolved into a fun action horror hack and slash. Onimusha Dawn of Dreams was great.

I could be wrong but didn’t release remaster version on PS4 not too long a go?

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch

You should definitely play them. Onimusha was one of the biggest action series of Capcom back in the days during the PS2 era, alongside Dino Crisis, Devil May Cry and Resident Evil.

Warlords the first one. The other 3 are all on PS2.
They have time, they should release rest of the games on modern system which will help build up hype towards the new one.

I’m definitely gonna give the series a try….I like this darker atmosphere edo period samurai games over trying be too colourful like Ghost of Tsushima, which they were trying too hard romanticize it.

This was easily my biggest surprise of the show, i love onimusha. After not releasing the onimusha 2 and 3 remaster I thought capcom was done with the franchise. Was really happy till 2026 popped up of course. Now release the rest of the og trilogy whilst we wait, there's no reason not to, the franchise is back and that video looked great.

I'm not really understanding why some of you are already hating if it does turn out to be a Soulslike, the gameplay in the fourth and final game already felt like a predecessor to Soulslikes to me, and even in the OG trilogy minus the Resident Evil camera and tank controls, the combat was actually very soulslike, In fact wasn't Onimusha the very first game to heavily emphasize parrying and riposting?

Onimusha is amazing!
My favorite is 2(Town music!) and 4, had an amazing time on the PS2.

Hopefully there will be a remaster of 2,3 and 4 to catch up before this one releases.

Hopefully it's gonna be more like the first 2 games
The new game also better be bigger and much more expanded in more ways than one. Hopefully 12-15 hrs of playtime at least if not more. The first game was way too short and barely even explored anything it had to offer tbh, love it to death, but still.

Yeah, 15-20 hours of onimusha would be great, if it has the same quality of the old ones.

Pretty sure the voice acting at the end is Benedict Wong:

Sick.
Hope my aged skills and lack of patience let me compete the demon realm floors.

Wonder who the famous face will be, if anything. A younget Hiroyuki Sanada would sick. Or keep him old even. Change protagonists in future.

Dawn of dreams is amazing, I mean, shit, just in the first 5 minutes /intro, you're fighting a giant demonic mecha while some of the most Japanesey, heroic music is playing in the background ffs.

For some reason people didn't like it as much as the other games, for.me personally, it was one of the best Onimushas - if not the best with 3 being the most cringy one (Jean Reno + japanese zombies in Paris lol).
Also don't forget the hidden local coop mode. It is a blast if you have a friend over. Dawn of Dreams, with Resident Evil 5, is one of my all time favorite coop games.

I Really hope this game plays like an extremely polished version of Nioh. As much as I love Team Ninja, their games have not made the technical leap this generation

Please find a way to put 2 and 3 on modern consoles. 😭
I played the remaster recently for the first time and while its clunky and a little dated it really felt like Resident Evil set on Japan lol, pretty interesting i was hoping they remaster the other games as well

Same, but 3 was trash. The modern day Paris sections felt very out of place.

We get onimusha before Dino crisis

Suck my balls Capcom

I feel your pain.

Capcom could have at least given us a remaster of the first two games. Dino Crisis is being oppressed by Capcom.
