PC gamers, would you rather have the best PC possible or a second monitor?

Would you rather?

Two monitors are stupid. Ultra wides are stupid. My 48" monitor has a ultra wide mode. and its stupid. no one's ultra wide has a 48" 16:9 mode. ... stupid.

If it’s not for gaming on your gaming PC then why is a second screen a must? Can’t you just alt tab to see whatever you need to see?
i cant do two things at the same time with alt tabbing no. Like playing civ while watching youtube.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Some of these responses are actually blowing my mind.

Do you all have such low attention spans that you need to actively be doing something else WHILE gaming? When I'm gaming, I consider it to be a dedicated task. In fact, I sometimes use it as an opportunity to block out other distractions. If you're splitting your focus in such a way, how are you paying any attention at all to the game you're playing? If you're not paying attention, what's the point?

It depends on the game. I dont watch youtube while playing some games, bzt in games like civ? Yeah i'm watching youtube.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Two monitors can be very useful for work or stuff that require multitasking, like game devving or 3d modeling, among many others.

can't imaging having only one display, so a second screen is a must.
But then I do also work on those devices and need to see more

Ah okay, I generally don’t play strategy games so never even considered watching YouTube while gaming, would just mess up my gaming.

I honestly don't get it.. "why not both" is the obvious response here.

Anyway, I use three screens at work, but never felt the need for more than one at home.

I think second monitor is dumb, I can only look at one, and like to concentrate on doing one thing at a time. Also alt-tab exists.

I don't want a high end PC because they use too much electricity and would be heating up the room. Probably louder with more fans and bleeding edge often has coil wine, and more "pioneer" issues than lower end. I guess I could undervolt though. So I'll choose that.

And rather one god-tier monitor, instead of multiple budget ones. Hope it doesn't have fans though.

If you're not a moviefilm walking game enthusiast lots of real games are better played with external tools or otherwise have downtime (matchmaking, waiting for friends, etc) better spent on a second screen. If you need muh immersion, what's the point in pretending to play a game instead of just watching actual moviefilm?

Any game that involves grinding is best played with some YouTube vids or Twitch streams on an extra screen, this is irrefutable fact.

You know that with pc the options are almost unlimited, especially considering.pared to anything else.

So, why compromise? Just have it all.
