So they had someone from Nintendo or the factories leak them everything right? Because Nintendo would never sent 3rd parties any kind of specs, where they don't make a dime from a sale.

Just means the switch is definitely in final stages of manufacturing and the real reveal will be sooner than later.

Looks like a nice grip. I have a Skull & Co Neogrip for my Oled which is nice, but something akin to the Deck Modcase would be sweet as this time round.

I wonder if this also confirms that the launch model will again come with these joycon colors

I really think the Switch 2 was supposed to be announced by now, hence all the leaks.

It's clear the hardware was decided on, the delays were more so to ensure a supply of hardware and to allow for a stronger launch in terms of software. Furukawa literally said so on an earnings call to investors.

I don't think it's clear that these accessory leaks has anything to do with Nintendo's readiness. More likely some accessories got leaked, and now the accessory manufacturers are under pressure to advertise their own to avoid not being in the conversation.

How does a random Chinese manufacturer have more information about Switch 2, than the best game journalists?!

not sure what you mean by that. it is public knowledge since around september last year what the exact SoC is the Switch 2 uses, what the screen size is and that it would be a bit bigger.
it also has been known for a while that the joycons clip in from the side with the help of magnets.

it's hard to get more info on a console without straight up having it in your hands lol.

all we got now is the design of it, which is just a slightly bigger Switch 😅

matches the leaks and rumors.

Nintendo need to hurry the fuck up and reveal this thing before someone shows it off for them.

It doesn't need to look dramatically different lol. Just make it more powerful internally and call it Switch 2.

looks too much like a digital mockup. doesn't look whimsical enough to be Nintendo.
in case you didn't notice the Switch is a huge success so Nintendo ain't gonna be doing any whacky shit anymore. They hit gold with the Switch so makes sense to do a Switch 2. Beef up the specs. No need to change the actual design too much.

Wth how is that even possible?

Here's how from someone that's worked for Chinese manufacturers in China. I was there and saw exactly how this happens. People working for the official manufactures will get the relevant data or samples out of the company. They will then shop this data or physical samples around face to face with their connections that make accessories and sell them for $1000's. The first buyer will be ahead of the curve and get their products ready. Now then the first buyer some recoup their investment by reselling this data/sample for a high price knowing that there is not enough time for their competitors to catch up and be ready for launch.

This cycle repeats way down the chain. Those brown 3DS versions, I had one in the office before the press even picked up on the fact they were out there. Ipad mini case sample, Ipod touch technical cabinet drawings mis-identified as the new IPhone 5 (?), the silver Xbox logo from the Xbox One over a year in advance of the official reveal. All that stuff.

Yeah it's still going to be a handheld with removable controllers. Didn't say otherwise. But the design doesn't look Nintendo. Looks too much like a digital mockup.

it corroborates the chinese factory leaks from a few months ago, where there is some kind of release mechanism at the backside of the joycons near the L2 and R2 buttons

History says you're wrong. Doing the same thing but faster/better has always led to lower sales. And that then leads to them doing something "whacky" as you put it.

GB sold great. They went and made a GBA - same thing but faster/better. Sold worse.

Then they went and made the 2 screened DS and sold a ton.

Then they said we will make a better faster DS and include 3d too. Same thing...sold much worse.

They kept doing the same thing but faster/better with their consoles - NES, SNES, N64 and finally GC and each one sold worse than the one before. ... until they will did something quite different with the Wii and had their best selling console ever.

They said well let's do Wii U -keep the Wii name in there, add a 2nd screen but have b/c and wiimote support. Flopped hard.

Then they changed gears, combined their console and handheld and had big success with something different in the Switch.

;)

You might be right, I just don't remember there being so many accessory leaks before other console reveals.

There are some other minor changes apart from the size, and these are reflected in the mockup.

someone didn;t notice the C button on the controller, it's C=crap, when you press it your console literally turns into shit.

Nintendo has been kinda pathetic with this roll out/reveal.

Accessory makers have basically revealed the damn system before they did because of this dragged out official reveal/announcement.

In a lot of ways what is there to reveal? Its like going from the PS4 to the PS5, seeing the design of the console is not going to give much away unlike other Nintendo consoles in the past.

Its going to the software that show off what it can or cant do.

U-shaped kickstand and everything.. Every single leak of the design is the same so far so it’s safe to say that we know exactly what it looks like at this point.

Hopefully Nintendo has some neat cards up their sleeves when they finally decide to show it off officially.
