My ps+ Extra run out on the 20th, and I resubbed to Black Friday prices on the 22nd for the Essential tier.
While I think that the Extra catalogue has a lot of attractive games I noticed that I never play them. OTOH I usually play like 5 of the monthly games per year.
Yeah, and I play some Helldivers2 on PlayStation, so I need PS+

I'm stacked with Premium for several more years because I was able to get it at the price of Essential. Not sure if I'll continue to sub after that, the value just isn't there anymore.

Yes. It's easy enough to save up throughout the year for the re-up and I don't usually bye a game at full price unless it's something I really want day 1.

Not gonna lie though, if there's another price increase I might just have to let it go.

Yes. I'm a Destiny and COD player, I seldom buy games. It saves me a lot of money every year. And PS Plus seems to give out a lot of old games that I'm interested in but did not purchase, so I'm quite happy with it.

Not since they created a bunch of tiers and raised the price on everything.
Yep, same here, I let my sub lapse and didn't renew. And it definitely didn't help that Sony was always pushing to upgrade PS+ when it was on sale, rather than giving a discount for the existing plan.

those "shitty games" are an ever changing selection of practically all the games on the platform. So if you don't like those you should buy a Switch or maybe be happier with a PC?

I'm stacked until mid 2026 as I got it for cheap just around the time of the rebrand.

I doubt I'll be resubbing at full price, just wait for the sales then resub.

I subbed from the day it launched on PS3 until about 2-3 months into owning a PS5. The deal got worse, the price got worse, the monthly games got worse. I also quit buying any game that wasn't hard exclusive on PS5 so I wouldn't have to worry about losing cloud saves and online multiplayer. To this day, I only own Demon's Souls remake and Astro Bot on my PS5. I want to play Rise of the Ronin, but I'm nearly positive we'll see it on PC eventually.

I've only missed the odd day here and there since day #1.

Currently still got Premium thanks to a small PS Now sub before the switch over.

Seriously considering not reupping and just seeing how it goes because I no longer play Destiny 2 and only ever add to the backlog with the "free" games, rarely even download them.

Missing out on save-scumming rogue/lites and games with multiple endings might be a friction point though 🤔 Not being able to take my saves off the console via USB is a scum cunt move from Sony.

I am subscribed to the premium and I've been a ps plus been subscriber since the release on the ps3... But my subscription will end in two days and I am unsure if I will renew it. If in two days I can get the discount, I will probably renew it, If I can't, I will wait for the december sales...

"Hell yes!" is a bit strong but I have been subscribed for a while.

Mainly using it nowdays to play Helldivers 2, although I will think about re-subscribing as I am not really using it much. Seems better to just outright buy the games I want to play when they go on discount rather than wait for years for them to hopefully arrive on the subscription.

Life is too short and time is too precious to spend playing games I don't like or enjoy.

What’s the point in knowing what everyone else is doing? If you personally don’t find value in it (which it sounds like you don’t), then don’t subscribe.
Standard internet forum process. Let's make a statement /leading question and keep arguing until some people are assured that they've got it right and people on either side of the question are entrenched in a position, and any mention of the topic results in angry/laughing/crying emojis from people who are triggered but in that moment accuse other people of being triggered.

I was a Plus subscriber at the start of PS4 for about 2 years, then I got into collecting discs (I collected before, but PS4 was not compatible with PS3 and therefore my PS3 collection did not have an effect on PS4) and as soon as my collection reached a certain level and gained a certain weight, I stopped buying it, since everything they posted I already have. Now I buy Plus only when my friends and I want to play something online (Monster Hunter Wilds' Next Target).

Not for quite some time.

Not sure why I was paying for it since I only play single player games on it.

Majority of my online gaming is done on PC/Xbox.

I mainly play on PC and Xbox, with GamePass at all times. The PS5 sits a lot, so if I subscribe it would be for something like when Hell Divers 2 came out. Occasionally I see a title up on Plus and sub to check it out, but my sub always lapses for months at a time.

Yes, great service. I play online regularly with my peers. Also the shareplay function is really slept on...I play tekken 8 regularly with my friend without him owning the game.

'Hell yeah, I love paying for online gaming' is what this option should have been.

Make them hate themselves more OP.

I was a yearly subscriber until they significantly raised the prices in 2023.
It's not about the money per se, or that I can't afford it, but the fact that Sony locks basic features like cloud saves, automatic updates, and online gaming behind a paywall made me think about it, and I came to the conclusion that I don’t want to support such behavior with my money.
The 'free' games were, for me, not worth the subscription fees over almost 10 years, except for a handful of exceptions.

In the past, I've signed up for a year's sub at a discounted rate. But I never ended up really using it, so it didn't seem worth it - to me, anyhow.

When I buy the console I tend to get a subscription. But usually when that runs out I don't bother renewing as by that point iv played and got my fill of the few games on PS that interest me.

I had PS membership for a number of years later becoming PS+ Essential but let it lapse this year, didn't feel i was getting any value from it as i only play single player games.

I was subscribed for years in PS3 days. Now when extra launched I wad subscribed for 2 years. After Sony increased price... it was no longer worth it.

Now it's "sometimes", like when elden ring dlc dropped.

Since day 1.

Nope, mostly I play only single player games on my PS5 but I occasionally pay for Xbox live gold or whatever its name right now just to play Halo MCC and Halo 5 multiplayer from time to time in my Xbox series whenever I have the urge to play multiplayer games.

I keep the base one as an extra immediate layer for backup saves. I have a lot of rpg's & that safety net is nice to have. I do think Sony should offer a lower priced tier for saves only. Even if it was $30/year I'd pay it.

Why not just use an external HDD or USB memory stick for that, if it's only about 'backup' savegames?

Just running basic, never really using it, still waiting for the VR2-giveaways like they did for the VR1. Sad that those are now the good old days, even though they also were shittier than before.
