Rumor: Halo Infinite coming to PS5 today (or announced today). MCC coming later.

It’s is some BS.

Not this game tho, I hope they announce the MCC soon.

I'd imagine they'll have to strike a deal with Sony and Nintendo at some point and give up large amount of Gamepass cut. Gamepass isn't gonna work on Xbox anymore since they are basically all but abandoned that console and giving people little reason to own one. It's pretty obvious they did not have a plan for this in place (do they ever?) as they were going in different direction until higher ups at Microsoft decided to go third party.

Its probably not a bad idea to abandon GP once they cease production of Series consoles. They can sell annual CoD games for full price on every device. I figure it makes more than putting it on GP with its many freeloaders only using a monthly trial.

Don't think they'll abandon it, but putting games in the service day and date was always a risky strategy that most people said was gonna fail. Subscription services in gaming will likely take off at some point, but Microsoft was trying to force things too early and it backfired spectacularly. They obviously don't have a clear plan as of now, seems like they just gonna see what works for them going forward.

The goal posts have shifted so far they're no longer on the same field, lol. The fact that Xbox fanboys are still clinging to Xbox brand name is just sad. Denial is a terrible thing.

Of course they will, that’s how these people make money is engagement and traffic. Idk why anyone here gives them that engagement.

I'm looking forward to the population bump on MCC. Halo 3 multiplayer was always great, but it's absolutely fantastic with modern resolutions and framerates.

You have PC fanboys on twitter waiting for Day and Date just to laugh at Sony fans.
The "fun" part with the dead exclusivity is already over, day1 doesn't change much. PS fans have accepted it. That's more wishful thinking just like the PS fanboys are hoping for devasted Xbox fans after every announced game for PS. Most Xbox fans have accepted it since like a year when the first party game porting started.

Can we stop eating this shit up? Stop giving oxygen to every shit head on Twitter or Reddit or wherever. They were going to stealth drop (or announce) fucking Halo on a Friday afternoon are you kidding me?

Zuby tech is a fraud.

His either always guessing based on what's happening(e.g. Forza port), which is what happened here.

Or his stealing scoops from other places and not crediting the source, trying to make himself look like the source.

I don't think Microsoft forced things too early, rather they forced the only strategy they got. If subscription services are going to be a norm than they are ready to take the L for years for an eventual dominance in this space.

God knows they can't get dominance by traditional method of competing with Nintendo or Playstation.

Im playing the campaign now and am quite enjoying the open world change. What are the general dislikes?

Its kind of glued together. The story missions are all underground, and cut off from the world with loading screens. On the open world itself there are a handful of arbitrary things you can do like liberate bases or save a squad from a firefight. Those elite weapons weren't possible to take into story mission either. And its only one biome, while Halo was always known for having jungles, ice areas, city levels etc.

The gameplay is very good, but all the rest is boring. I ended up enjoying the MCC more.

That’s a shame to hear. I thought there’d be more variety in environments as I progressed. Oh well, at least it’s short apparently

If you like nothing stories sure, why not.

Gotta love how they tease a threat greater than the flood but end the game on the most anti-climactic cliffhanger we ever got.
Makes halo 2’s ending look a masterpiece in comparison
Sure, but I don't give a shit, the most important part of Halo is the gameplay and Infinite wipes the floor with the rest.

They couldn't take the L though. Their original plan was to increase their subscription numbers through their console base, but that failed so they went third party. Without Xbox consoles selling well their subscription service is gonna die, unless of course they make a deal with Sony ot Nintendo to have Gamepass available on their systems. So really we don't even know what's gonna happen to Gamepass at this point, they could abandon it just like they abandoned so many of their plans.

Was my first halo game since halo 3, I loved the original trilogy back in the day….and yeah, it was so so bad. Played through it in a weekend and it was just exceptionally meh, with a dogshit story 🤷‍♂️. No idea how it cost as much as the numbers that were floating around suggested.

They need to stop fucking around with the rumors/insinuations and just release the big boys already. They need to get Halo on PS5 asap and establish a massive playerbase while they still have the benefit of the "holy fuck Halo is on Playstation" factor. Interest in Xbox games on PS5 will never be higher than it is right now.

I say this because GTA6 is looming, and when the countdown to launch begins the overwhelming majority of gamers will not care about anything else. I love Halo and want to see it make a resurgence on a new platform, but if MS doesn't get it out the door well in advance of GTA it will just be a fart in the wind.

Can't imagine there are enough competent people at 343 to port that shitty mess of an engine to PS5 in quick fashion, it's still a mess on xbox and pc with constant crashes and disconnects. And they only have like 5 people left working on infinite while the rest of the team is tinkering with unreal 5 for next halo.

Idc about this if it's true. All I know is the next halo needs to knock it out of the park to keep the franchise relevant.

What a world. With Microsoft going third-party, imagine the possibilities.

Killer Instinct on Nintendo hardware
Crash and Spyro on PlayStation
Banjo Kazooie on Nintendo
Candy Crush on your cell phone

Things are about to get crazy
