Rumor : Next batman game from rock steady could be PS5 Exclusive

If they have started it recently it will not be available until at least 2030-2031, it will be cross-gen with PS6 already, who knows how the Xbox consoles will be by then...

I remember Suicide Squad was revealed at a Sony showcase, after which hate for game started.

Sony owe Rocksteady for helping in getting game destroyed.

Funding their next game is right thing to do I guess.

You're actually insane, 25m installbase and a massive IP that (aside from Suicide Squad) has sold millions across multiple Xbox generations.
When xbox players still bought games ... not so much anymore, if they can close a very good gamepass deal ok ...outside of that ? Companies cant risk making games for a fanbase trained to get theirs for "free"... we may not be in this stage yet, but its coming, everyone knows.

Sold for generations, but what about this specific one? I've never seen an Xbox version sell more than %10 for any big AAA title this gen.

Remember that WB is not only in dire straits, they've also seen the sales split for Hogwarts Legacy.. They know exactly what buying power remains for AAA singleplayer in the Xbox ecosystem.

The former studio leads were just as culpable for Suicide Squad, so don't think they're automatically gonna be better at whatever they do next.

All you have to do is look at the release schedules. If it wasn't worth making a port for Xbox, they wouldn't do it.

What happened when Sony's exclusivity period for Death Stranding came to an end? An Xbox version shipped immediately.

It's at the top of the screen you're looking at, the thread title.
lol yeah I mean their article. Where does the PS5 part come from when their sourced articles say PS6 and PC.

[source techtroduce.com, via gamingbible.com]
As for the PlayStation exclusivity, Ignus notes the game as likely releasing on PlayStation 6 and PC only.
The rumor has also suggested that the title might be a PlayStation exclusive, which might be available on the PS6 and PC only. If this turns out to be the case, it would be another disappointment for Xbox fans.
Did they even read their own sources?

I want this game. I'll buy whatever system I have to in order to play it.
It might not come out until the PlayStation 6 is release. The Rocksteady company that we all known and love is dead. Who knows this new Batman game might be WOKE in a way that Harley Q will be the final boss, and Batman have to beat her by throwing a pink plushie batrang at her lol. No more punching and kicking women the feminist women will cancel this new Batman game if Batman shows any type of masculinity gestures towards any of the Batman female villains.

I dont think anyone should be surprised when devs start ditching xbox without any "agreement or deal" being necessary ... as I said we may not be there yet ... but its coming ... for now as long as it is financially viable the ports will continue.

And I dont think this studio can do another good game, so if sony is paying for this shit, xbox may be dodging a bullet anyway.

At least we know it will be reviewed as a masterpiece going in. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Seriously, let's hope it is a good one. If they need sponsorship to get that done after the last couple eggs they've laid, so be it.

already the PS twunk-nuts crowing this as an absolute fact instead of the utterly unsubstantiated rumor that it is for a game that has barely begun development regardless of final platform or platforms.

Twunk-nuts 😆

Nice to see Rocksteady throwing PlayStation only owners a bone here.

I mean did they honestly think the only reason why people didn't like Suicide Squad is because it wasn't a traditional Arkham game? I know that played a part but the game had a ton of issues that turned people off. The fact is, Rocksteady now isn't the Rocksteady of old.

I bet this rumor is another bullshit fake 'leak' and the game will be multiplatform.

Pretty likely Sony will only sign with them just a marketing deal as did with Hogwarts Legacy or Suicide Squad and many other ones.

Well, when you think about it, it makes sense. If Sony isn't going to give us 1st party developed games, might as well get them from Xbox and Rocksteady.

A rumour linked to allegedly accurate leaker Lunatic Ignus has started spreading. It follows a report from Bloomberg's Jason Schreier that developer Rocksteady is looking to return to the world of single-player Batman. Word on these lawless, unverified streets suggests that this next effort would be based on the incredibly awesome, decidedly darker Batman Beyond, adapting its narrative but not the animated series' distinctive art style.

Modern gaming, ladies and gentlemen. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

A lot of games will become de facto PS console exclusive once xbox is officially off the market. Or the install base becomes so inactive that it simply isn't worth it for most publishers without MS directly paying for it, similar to how it is for a lot of Japanese devs currently. They can essentially use Xbox's incredibly weak market position as leverage to extract money from them.

And the Switch 2 will still lack the power to run every single port.

I don't see Sony pursuing many third party deals going forward. They just won't need to.

Wasn't Batman Beyond one of the most dark and violent Batman series? I just hope whatever is left of the team knows what they are doing and doesn't turn it into another bland, wise cracking, purple zit popper.

And yeah... by ps5, he obviously means ps6

I can't reasonably believe this information until the Wonder Woman game is first revealed along with a release date.

WB Discovery is bleeding money and their upper brass is too random when it comes to starting projects and too volatile when it comes to cancelling them.
