That looked surprisingly good. I hope it has a few more fps than the last RF I played on the switch. Was that 5? It was so bad I've forgotten about it.

It's on Switch so that seems unlikely. Yeah 5 was technically speaking just a very rough game. It seems like the development staff just didn't have great tech to build their game.

The only bad thing about this is it's not coming soon enough. Hopefully it will run at 60fps on Switch 2 at launch, whenever that is.

...

You sure this is Rune Factory? With the change in art style and, seemingly, more action oriented focus I would've mistaken this for an entirely original game.

I'll keep my eye on it, I mean I enjoyed Tides of Destiny despite the changes to the formula.

That said, who's publishing/localizing it? Please don't let it be XSEED.

Was there day 1 for RF5, but man... it ran and looked like absolute ass. This? Looks too good and has too many frames for it to be on Switch.

It wasn't a tech issue, it was a skill issue. Everything about RF5 felt ancient, from design to environment to gameplay elements.

I agree, the footage for this looks *shockingly* good for it being running on Switch. I wonder if it was multiplat footage and the porting process has just started/ hasn't even started yet.

The Switch was certainly not the problem. The hardware is not strong, but take games like Zelda (BotW / TotK) and Xenoblade. They run solidly on the Switch. The game was probably not optimised well for the Switch. For whatever reason.

It's too easy to just blame it on the hardware. You can also find games that run badly on the PC or NextGen consoles. The most powerful hardware is useless if the game is not well programmed / optimised.

The trailer today looked surprisingly good and I also like the style. I hope the finished game is just as appealing.

I agree and share your hope. There are some elements that remind me of Genshin Impact and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of influence came from there. Especially the Inazuma arch.

Whether it looks more like Genshin or the latest Rune Factory game is not that important to me. Performance was the biggest issue I had with it. I don't even need 60 fps. It's not a shooter or racing game. But a stable 30 is quite nice. It's not like the frame rate rarely dropped. The thing was half a slideshow. :(

What interests me most (besides the hopefully better performance) are the characters.

Looks good to me. Most likely a PC purchase for me unless Switch 2 happens to be out when this launches.
