They make it illegal to call it a war, yet allow TV hosts and pundits to threaten war with Europe and the US and how they'll 'crush'. Yet it is they who also not very subtly hint that they'd used nuclear weapons.

You don't use nuclear weapons unless you are or are going to lose very, very, very badly. And yet the pundits are in with that too.

We can argue the merits of the EU’s contribution as a whole, but the absolute pasting Germany’s reputation is taking over Scholz’s mealy mouthed response to the worst war atrocities committed since the ones his country was responsible for, is going to be a mark on the nation for decades. For all ScoMo’s towering faults, this is not one of them, and will probably help him to a victory over the human personality vacuum Albanese. Australia has learned (arguably too late) that you can’t trust the fuckers as far as you can throw them. Miss Ardern and her overweening sense of righteousness have not done similar.

Saw a few other comments around this some topic elsewhere. It's absolutely hypocritical. There's also some commentary that Germany only has a few weeks of ammo/etc to sustain combat in the event of an actual confrontation with Russia which is partly why they aren't even able to do more - they actually don't have anything to give. Basically a pants down moment.

It’s bad… the poles are going to be rightfully angry about this and the French-German axis to the west alongside the German-Poland axis to the east are currently the central flows of the EU. And that eastward axis is critical to maintain EU cohesion with the newer, eastern members.

Yes, Putin has done that before. He had some flats (apartment blocks) blown up, not important industry and research. You simply don't do this to yourself. And recently when Russia have attempted false flags, they have been so blatant and obvious that they were foiled before they could even do them.
