Ahh right, yeah he was cool, in my playthrough he died with the drunkard on like 2% health it was a real bitchNah I'm talking about the NPC you mentioned that you meet in the Hirata Estate who helps you with Juzou the Drunkard.

Did you get the hang of it?Also mikiri counter seems to have stopped working, I'm holding forward and pressing O when the samurai ready a thrust and have the red symbol above them but I'm just jumping into their attacks.. had it working fine for ages..
Yes! i was able to dominate genchiro when i got his move set down, and i was finishing the first phase untouched with mikiri counter against his thrust.. that's where I'm at, just sent off by the divine heir to find the sunken valley and some lotusDid you get the hang of it?

For me lady butterfly was the real tough one. Actually after banging my head against her for ages, the guy at the castle gate on the horse, the ashina elite and genchiro, and every other simple weapon wielder, has been pretty easy to understand... My problem with genchiro was losing concentration because i was excited to get into the third phase.. this seems to be my main problem in soulsborne games at the moment, when i progress and feel the finish line inching closer i get fixated on it and don't notice the giant sword heading towards my forehead lolAwesome now you got it!
Genichiro is the big wall and once you get past it you're on your way to become master shinobi!
Ahhh i better grind up the gold then...oh, and umbrella is your friend
At first they were really hard for me and still at times they can be pretty difficult. How hard are interior ministry ninjas considered to be? It's been a while but the last many times I took on the one in the estate i got my ass repeatedly handed to me
Senpou Temple and Sunken Valley are my favourite areas from story/lore and game design POV. Perfects that far east/monk's journey I've always thought of.Bit of progress, i completed senpou temple, got the mortal blade, now I'm heading into the sunken valley but i got stumped by the fucker with a shotgun and called it a day.
The game is insane, how can people be blasé about such a work of art...
It's a different beast baby.Is it weird I can't get into this? Played Demon's Souls, DaS1-3 and Bloodborne and did everything in them. Don't know why this one isn't appealing. Maybe I should just skip and go straight to Elden Ring...
I had the same experience. Is it weird I can't get into this? Played Demon's Souls, DaS1-3 and Bloodborne and did everything in them. Don't know why this one isn't appealing. Maybe I should just skip and go straight to Elden Ring...
Glad it finally clicked for you! I've said this many times before, but Sekiro is essentially a dex build's wet dream. There is a very specific way the game wants you to play (deflection), and anybody that can't reconcile with that ends up getting filtered fast. Once you get it tho... the game sinks its teeth in you and never lets go. Repeat playthroughs are fun in that you get to focus more on stylish gameplay (combos with prosthetics and hidden arts) as opposed to being solely focused on posture depletion. So I got hard stuck on the final boss back at launch and basically quit for 5 and a half years. I picked back up recently, relearned the mechanics, continued exactly where I left off, and got the final boss in a few days. Now I'm on new game +6 with the platinum and just beat the Shura gauntlet to get a cool shura skin and it's only been a few weeks since I picked the game back up. I fucking love Sekiro. Too bad it took so long to really click for me. I think this is my second favorite FROM game after Bloodborne now that I understand it. It used to be dead bottom for me lol

Starting a charmless demon bell run as my last playthrough now and then I'll probably set the game aside for a while.
Yeah, the experimentation in later runs is legit a whole different game and how it's intended to be played, it feels like. I cant believe I went through my first run just spamming deflect and hoping for the best lmaoGlad it finally clicked for you! It's probably the best combat that FromSoftware has achieved, and only Armored Core VI is able to trade blows with it while also offering build variety
