I wouldn't trust polls on Twitter (I'm never calling it X) as quite alot of people left the platform and went to better/less toxic social media platforms like Bluesky, Threads etc... Most users i have enchountered on Twitter these days are noting but bot created accounts.
While I agree that X polls are echo chambers, it's not because X is an echo chamber, and that diverse thought left for Bluesky. Your logic is completely backwards here for two reasons. 1. If everyone who left X had the same thoughts & emotions, and had to create a new safe space, that new space IS the echo chamber. Like when everyone left gaf to create a new echo chamber on resetera.
2. All algorithm-based websites, end up as echo chambers. It's just how algorithms work, it shows you content you engage with. There are plenty of diverse 'bubbles' on X, you've got Black X, Woke X, Nazi X, Anime X, Dolls X, Politics X, Memes X ect ect. But the algorithm 'bubbles' you into groups, and you will only see posts from the bubbles you've been grouped into, based on how you engage with content on the platform. Like I never see Black Twitter, I know it exists, and I've seen it before, but I don't engage with it, so I don't get bubbled into the group, and never see it on my feed.
it's the same with YouTube, my feed is exclusively an 'echo chamber' of my own tastes. That doesn't mean that other videos outside of my tastes don't exist. It's just the algorithm locks them out of my feed.
