Haven't really enjoyed a Spider Man movie since Raimi's SM2, and other than the first Iron Man, Disney's MCU outings haven't come close to the calibre of that movie.
The other Sony Spider Man movies have also been shit, but I would still rather them take another shot at it than Disney, as I honestly think that they suck at filmaking outside of animation.

Still, if you think about it then it would have made for a legit reason as to why there is no Spider-Man. Peter has gone into hiding after his identity got leaked. Hopefully they don't backtrack on this and deliver something interesting.

Honestly, I'm guessing that the videogame rights were a big sticking point in the negotiations. Disney will be looking at the huge bank Sony have made on Insomniac's game and thought these guys are getting more juice out of Spidey than we are. So lets stretch em a bit.

Sony blinked. They gave up 25% equity (the wording is ambiguous and may mean 25% equity of the license or 25% equity of just the 3rd film). If it's the former that means Disney now owns 25% of the Spider-man license. If it's the latter that means Sony went from paying 5% first day gross to 25% overall gross.
PSVue is big for Sony and this is a big get, but it's not like they get exclusive rights to these channels. And not like they are not paying an exorbitant amount of money for them. Plus, do you think Disney did NOT want to sell all these channels to as many MVPD as possible, including PSVue? lol

The Andrew Garfield movies are better and have a way more interesting Peter Parker than the MCU films. The MCU movies don't even attempt the more grounded struggles that PP has in the comics like trying to pay rent or make it to class on time. There's no dichotomy between Spider-Man and PP in the MCU films which is the thing that made him extremely in the first place.
