I think when she told him about her friend not liking people sitting in the co-pilot seats. That was code for why the demo crashed and not make the same mistake again.I can't believe they're still roleplaying.
At this point in the game's development (acknowledging it has a dev cycle that is way longer than other games) we'd get a nice CG trailer, if anything, for other games.
Because otherwise we're talking about development of a project of this scale with only like 10-40 people for a portion of that.
I really do like what I see though. Gives me that Alien Isolation feeling.
Did you watch the current stream? They have added AI that walks around and have sims like schedules.
They've been showing off a small portion of 3.0 live for 3 days and the shit was breaking constantly. Cutting down the amount of players, rehearsing their actions over and over again to not trigger problem areas is 100% likely. That the game crash meant that they triggered something they weren't expecting.
Its not fake, its just not at all indicative of the state of the game as it is. Normal play would probably have killed both of them trying to climb a ramp or something
So I guess there is no mid-mission persistence? If the game crashes during a mission, you just have to start over?
So why are they having to repeat steps like that video call?

Yeah sure hate posting when viewing a presentation of a game crash right in front of us and the developer even kinda "brags" about that they had lots of bugs earlier but not this one.
Tell me one other live demo presentation that would not be ripped to shreds if the same happened to it.
Come on now, CIG worked for years with a huge number of contractors. Around 2015 they decided to switch gears because they assumed that contract work wasn't paying off and instead chose to increase their own foot print.
Back in 2013 you'd ask someone when production started since they were getting close to 2014 and SQ42 still felt a long ways off and you'd have the zealots proclaim production started in 2011 so dont worry they've been working for some time now. That became inconvenient when its fucking 2017 and they are going to miss SQ42s release date again. At around 2015 people started saying that the real heavy lifting started in 2013. Now people want to convince everyone that production ACTUALLY started in 2015.
Hell we got a Cyberpunk 2077 trailer back in 2012.
Games take time to make, especially when you need to staff a studio to make it.
My guess - the demo has been worked through multiple times over to make sure they show off the features properly. The banter is sorta hokey, but keeps them on track for what comes next.
Are you sure you don't mean Colonial Marines? ;D
No one is sitting beside the pilot? I assume that was what crasched it.
Yeah the pilot said in the bants. No one is sitting beside the pilot? I assume that was what crasched it.
Because both the lady player and the pilot mentioned it.Why would you assume that?
22 minute delay and counting.
CIG's own dates (which took this into account and were made public after the studios were setup) had Star Citizen Ep 1 at end of 2016.
I remember when I backed this for a modern Wing Commander inspired campaign...
It's not even going to get demo'd today is it?

They said SQ42 wouldn't be shown today. Probably CitizenCon in October.

Anyone who rips a game to shreds because of bugs and crashes mid-development is a moron. It might be a cause for alarm two weeks before the game goes live but even then, I've seen games make dramatic turnarounds in stability and performance in two weeks. Shit happens and people need to put things into perspective, this is at least a year or two from release.
Ultimately I blame the AAA industry for calling their early access events "playable alpha tests" a month or two before release.
Because the demo is scripted and they don't want to crash/bug out the game by doing something out of order

I saw a highly scripted experience 'schedules'
Are the ships supposed to move like that? That landing looked so off.
