Well of the way they are splitting the series up, I guess it is to everyones advantaged to split it up. Though if this is for the manga, it has nice art. I love when characters hair do that, like Saikos. Well Manga and Anime have the more interesting plot of the three.
"Miracle Train I have a problem. My dad is the dad from Sankarea and is creepily overprotective to the point of not letting me have pets or friends and I'm basically imprisoned and now he wants to arrange my marriage."
"why don't you confront him about this"
"my feelings must have reached him because he rescheduled my arranged marriage meeting for a later date after scolding me for resisting his will. Thanks Miracle Train!"
I don't really know about that. It looks pretty much the same as before. Unremarkable.
The colour balance and the lighting reminds of me of the promo art for Worms 3D. It's not garish or anything, but it's clearly not reality in the same way that Hyouka is.
The game ending was a bit too much though. Don't think I will ever rewatch the series though, nothing to keep me excited aside from early Minori weirdness.
It's very by the book. If you are familiar with military scifi tropes - which amounts to porting contemporary war stories and cliches into space - then there's really nothing necessarily "original" about the show. But if you like those tropes, then it's like going back to something wonderfully familiar.
Look, you're not going to like shit until they show Spoor, you have to watch until then.
Jinto's the shittiest protagonist ever. He's like a leaf being carried along a river, the plastic bag from American Beauty being whisked around by the wind. All of his scenes are literally him shrugging, making a derpy face, making a derpy face while simultaneously shrugging, or doing one of those three while saying "even if you tell me that...," yeah, fuck Jinto. The show would be infinitely better if it was titled "The Sadism of Spoor Aron Sekpadao Letopanyu Peneju" and just focused on Spoor fucking with people 24/7 like a cool, sadistic Haruhi in space.
But seriously, the show's not bad it's just that Jinto and Lafiel are like the least interesting people in the show doing the least interesting things in the show.
Hmmm.... how big can a gif file be? Is there a size limitation or something with the format? I could imagine a gif of that would be several hours long.

And suddenly, the show decides that it's going to try to have an actual plot. A fairly dumb-sounding plot, but I'm trusting firehawk when he says it delivers!
The bishies are cast into the depths of an existential crisis after the Miracle Train is enveloped in a rainbow aura and suddenly appears in an unknown station undergoing construction. This unusual occurrence causes them to think serious thoughts about life and one's place in the universe that we've all had to consider at one point or another, like "why are we anthropomorphized train stations?" and "why do we help to solve the problems of girls?".
This inexplicably leads to a dramatic sequence where the Miracle Train and its passengers suddenly turn to stone and begin to crumble, clearly symbolic of how the realization that we live in a cold and material universe and that our origins are a random product of the chaotic interaction of atoms undermines our feelings of self-worth. The bishies finally achieved the level of self-awareness necessary to consider their origins, however this new awareness also forced them to face the prospect of their mortality for the first time. The stone phenomenon immediately reversed and everything returned to normal, but the episode ended with everyone deep in troubled thought.
Also the bishies have decided unanimously that the masked Conductor is shady as shit, for the two perfectly valid reasons of a.) there are no conductors on the Oedo line to begin with, and b.) dude has a private room at the front of the train that he never lets anyone in.
I decided to check out the semi-recent movie reboot of the anime series and it's almost exactly like the new story in terms of how I feel about it: the story is fairly generic scifi (inter-dimensional aliens are moving a black hole to Earth to try to suck up its resources - what?), but it's still awesome military scifi.
I'll be the first to admit that it doesn't look great either, since it's a :wonzo special, but it's also a movie where at least 70% of the film is about guys on starships doing badass starship things like shout random orders and slap subordinate officers. I wish I didn't write this franchise off after the Battlestar Galactica-esque live action movie, but I'm on board now.
Action, action, action everywhere! There was also going on dates but all the action was really nice. The fights were fun and I liked seeing all the new abilities that were being tossed around.

It really is amazing. It's the no-nonsense badass "Navy battles in space" show I've been looking for... and it came out in the 70s. lol
It really as if someone rescued the great military drama scenes from nuBSG and put it into its own series. Now, maybe there are angels and FINAL FIVE and WHERE IS EARTH later on and I'll be severely disappointed, but based on the two movies and 6 episodes of the remake that I've seen, so far so good.
One thing I just discovered is that the remake pulls a "Starbuck" and genders-waps one of the main characters, creating a potential love triangle where there wasn't one in the original. I suppose they felt the need to do that to appeal to modern audiences. lol
"Miracle Train I have a problem. My mommy cries all the time because my daddy is dead so I ran away from home because clearly this means that mommy only loved daddy and not me."
"Call me daddy and we'll go ride a carousel together."
"This just made me miss daddy even more, and mommy is still crying. Thanks Miracle Train!"
Definitely better than the main character, or the first character they introduced. He seems fun and actually really powerful, based on these clips, and the sand.

in order to exercise their reasoning of infiltration! Protecting information of unique military weaponry causes men to be dogs! Bad Zeon! Bad!
On the other side of the equation, you see Eledore (see "yippy kai yay" man above) weep about having to be a soldier, placing his life on a narrow balance beam, when his passion lies elsewhere. You've probably heard the story in a different work.
A TL moment of two friends laying out their issues
they knock out the guard in their tussle and are able to escape!
Ha, to be honest, I thought they would
be saved
traditionally. It was funny seeing Michel and Eledore keep conversing whilst sporting busted faces.
It was a solid episode. I see Michel and Eledore more as the "comedy squad" now due to their scrap and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I laughed at the ending. "It was all so sudden." I am also curious as to the use of an outro song (before the ED) used this time around. Perhaps it's simply for the event of a
member being put out of commission temporarily
or maybe a marker to
"the shipping!"
suddenly brought about. In any case, it wasn't a bad song.
I look forward to the next episode.
Maybe love can bloom on the battlefield, etc, etc.
And, true to Miracle Train policy, everyone's like "hell no, we're not helping you. It's your own fault for being A DUDE."
...except they decide to help him immediately after this because due to some law of the universe he's trapped on the Miracle Train until his problem is solved anyway.
"Miracle Train I have a problem. I want to propose to my girlfriend but I secretly like cute things and I don't want her to find out."
"You are you."
"Then I'll change who I amWAIT NEVERMIND DON'T TAKE ALL OF MY PLUSHIES PLEAAAAASE I'll just bare my soul to her after all. Thanks Miracle Train!"
