"Take-Two has said it "fully expects" to support Switch 2, and indicated that no game was off the table for Nintendo's next console."

"We've had obviously a long-standing relationship with Nintendo," Zelnick began, "and we've supported the platform when it made sense for the individual release.

"There was a time when Nintendo platforms are really geared at younger audiences and that was reflected in our release schedule. And now today with Switch and potentially with Switch 2, the Switch device can support any audience.

"As you may have noted, Civilization 7 is now on Switch. So while we have nothing specific to report, we actually would fully expect to support Switch [2].

I think GTA 6 is well off the table but it would be nice to get Red Dead II on it and maybe even GTA 5 which will continue to be a good game even after GTA 6.

If there is a Xbox Series S version what makes you think that it's off the table for a device releasing about 5 years later?

Make some cut backs & it should be doable.

if RDR2 could run on an Xbox One, its running on a Switch 2

I'm talking about the regular NS.

We better wait for NS2 to release to give us an ideia of what he can do. Between Xbox One and PS4, sure, but again as I said, they should put RDR2 in first to see how their engine plays.
Their never tried a Nintendo System before. They need to take into account the ARM cpu, the Nintendo gaming API and all sort of things. Unless they resource on companies like 'Saber' to make the port.

GTA V is a PS3/360 era game despite the servers being shut down on those platforms in 2021. The game could have easily ran on the Switch, even a gimped version. Rockstar never pursued it.

I’d be happy to be proven wrong but I don’t see it. I think the Series S version is going to be absolutely ass 720p 30fps with compromises and don’t see how they could get it on a console like the Switch 2 which will be weaker than a Steam Deck.

Depends on how much Nintendo improved the online infrastructure with Switch 2 and if the console is again a huge success. Obviously, if is it worth from a business perspective, they'll find a way to make it works.

According to the leaked specs the Switch 2 is more capable than the Steam Deck in handheld mode.

Technically it should be possible. XBOX SeS is not that more powerfull than Switch 2. And if Take Two wants it they can.

The series S is alot more powerful than the switch 2 and it dosen't have to lower the clockspeeds to preserve battery life like the switch 2 will. GTA 6 will look like vaseline was smeared on your tv screen on the switch 2 and will be the worst way to play by far.

GTA 6 is going to run on Series S and Steam Deck… Is going to run on Switch 2 too…

GtA 6 isn't being specifically developed for the steam deck. It'll run like crap on their too. Just because something is playable dosen't mean it's a good way to play the game. The steam deck and switch 2 will run GTA 6 but it'll look like crap.

People are not saying that GTA6 is going to look on Switch 2 the same as the Series S version, people are saying that the Switch 2 is perfectly capable of run the game, there is not technical limitation.

That remains to be seen but we know the technology in the Switch 2 based on the famiboard leaks. All I’ll say is it’s going to be underclocked for battery life and it makes no sense to me that Valve revised the Steam Deck last year and couldn’t make it as small as the Switch 2 nor give the thing a respectable battery life still. Logic dictates to me that with the Switch 2 size it’s still not going to be as powerful as a Steam Deck,

the controls have a lot to do with that. and 2.5 to 3 hours under heavy load is respectable still, wtf?
DLSS will hard carry Switch 2 so even if its less powerful after the underclocks its probably still gonna do well. enough for GTAVI anyways, maybe after a year of optimizations & port work like PC
