I had to login just to say how disappointingly absurd I find those poll results. People have fell so hard when it's a fucking remaster of a game they want more than anything else. Most of you literally want and deserve the massive stagnation in creativity and videogame quality that's taking place, unbelievable.

Further, BB needs a simple patch to run at 60+ fps and higher res, CA and motion blur toggle and that's it. Waste of resources to do anything more.

We need a 10th anniversary replay thread

A decade is a big deal for this masterpiece

A game where the experience can change drastically depends on what initial weapon you chose.

Thats pretty spot on actually.
- Saw Clever is the best starting weapon and it will take advantage of almost every monster in the game(beasts) and carry you the entire game
- Hunter Axe is avarage but still a solid choice, being a safier crowd control when transformed. You will probably suffer with stammina costs and avarage attack speed(making easier for enemies to retaliate)
- Thread cane despite having 2 different hidden damage bonus it's probably the worst of the bunch. Not enough damage, scaling it's weird and rather difficult to use transformed attacks. Its incredibly dangerous in the hands of a npc hunter though

What messed up contract does Sony and from have that it's been 10 years?

How has days gone received a remaster and not this? The studio is basically shut down and john garvin went ham after he got shit canned. Tons of negative reviews (i love the game myself) but it gets a new edition.

The axe average? I'm sorry fucking what? :lollipop_grinning_sweat:
To me the axe is way more powerful than the sword, spin to win baby, range and ko ability make you breeze through most of the game and bosses, you ko mofos before they can even touch you.

The Threaded Cane wins handily in the only category that truly matters: style.

Axe was my first hunter weapon the first time I played.
It gets old like real fast because of the reasons I gave (avarage speed, high stamina costs). The only real reason for a hunter to hold it it's for its safety on using transformed heavy attacks, but that drains absurdly amounts of stamina. Also you gonna feel problem with fast attackers retaliating you between your attacks (enemies and bosses alike) and abit of fake range. You lose nothing either trading for a better weapon like Ludwig Holy Blade or just getting the aforementioned Saw Cleaver. It's nowhere a bad weapon though.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Well if it doesn't happen this year you guys can shut up about a Remake or Remaster happening.

Only ported. 4k120.
Don’t touch the graphics
Let us at least turn off chromatic aberration though please.
But I suppose even if it was remastered (by from software), they wouldn't add an option for this, because even in Elden Ring we can't turn it off, which really sucks. Maybe if it's remastered by another studio.

With some good positioning stamina was never a problem.

But yeah playing only with charged heavy attacks and dominate almost everything got stale after a while, that's why i switched to the greatsword, but not because i had any problem kicking asses with the axe.

I tried the cleaver but always returned to the axe, nothing special in the moveset other than the damage to beast, the twin spear cleaver or whatever name was the better weapons between the 2, at least it has more range.

I guess everything is personal when it comes to weapons but this is the first time i hear someone calling the axe average, to me it has always been like a cheat\easy mode weapon.

Cane was my first playthrough. I went back to saw cleaver afterwards and it wasn't even funny how much extra damage it did. Though it did let me cheese Gascoigne through the stairs
Cane has damage to beast and the other type of damage depend on what form you use, it is weak early but get kinda busted later, people underestimate the huge range and speed.

Also, it look classy AF and fullfil the castlevania whip playstyle.

I recently started a new run with the cane but i realized that i can't really play with the unstable 30 fps of of bb anymore, not now that i'm used to 100+ frames with gsync.

I just looked up the game on metacritic to find out, why you're all so obsessed with the game. metacritic user score of 89. That must be it, yeah - pretty sure.. Or am I? :pie_thinking:

Who gives a fuck about metacritic?

Play the game if you're so curious maybe? If not, that's cool too, but metacritic doesn't tell anyone anything with how absolutely fucked in the head most game journalists are.

I originally played with the cane whip because it was so Castlevania to me. When I started my second playthrough last year I tried the axe for the first time and fell in love. You are correct about the positioning with the heavy attacks, and also more importantly, timing. To me it's like lining up the perfect shot with a gun and if you blow it, you'll pay dearly. I dig the risk vs reward of it, and the stamina cost is totally part of the equation. Love it.

I remedy this by firing off a couple rounds as back up if I whiff or stamina is depleted. More often than not I'll stun them briefly, if not full on stagger giving me enough time to either dodge step back for some breathing room or a counter.

Edit: Sorry for double

I honestly think the threaded cane was added purely as a knod to the whip, as Souls games owe quite a lot to Castlevania in general with regards to atmosphere, so I think it almost functions more as a roleplaying thing than a legitimately great weapon. I chose the axe, my wife chose the cane.

Guess who beat the game?

The cane whip was pretty rough starting out, but it was just so stylish and badass looking I didn't care and then somehow beat the game with it.

Also there's a Gascoigne cheese? Do tell cormack12 cormack12

Ha, I led him up the stairs in beast form then ran back on myself so he was caught on the staircase, then the whip clipped through and slayed that mofo.

Not sure if they ever patched it

Well this vid is from four years ago so I’m assuming it still works.

Need to try this tonight with the molotovs or uncharged R2 axe swings.

My strategy is simpler and works with either threaded cane or hunter's axe. During the human stages keep yourself on the opposite side of the gravestone circle and use long ranged melee attacks to do damage. When he turns, use the music box to stun and do a fully charged heavy attack to his back to set up visceral attack. Afterward fish for a gun parry and if the second visceral attack doesn't kill, then fill him full of lead.

Been devouring since Friday. Just beat Amygdala and haven’t even been through the Forbidden Forest aside from getting the access to the Cainhurst summons letter. All bosses down on the first try aside from Gascoigne.

Really cemented itself on the top ten of all time list for me this weekend. I just love the fuck out of it. Masterpiece total.

Ludwig Holy blade not only my prefered weapon but also the best weapon imo.
Normal fast good damaging attacks, excellent to stun mid and slow enemies with charge attacks from behind. Transformed you can either spam the special attack for high stagger or simply use charge lung attacks. Best of all, pretty good scaling, hidden damage against enemies of church and excellent use for papers.

Bloodborne was my first "souls" game and I really loved this game. Also there is a boss here which took me 2-3 days to kill with some anon other player (thank you other anon player for helping me :goog_horns: ) Never forget that feeling after slaying that s.o.b.

Sony is definitely pulling something about this game because when they even "Remaster"ed fairly new games and not this is really suspicious and new Sony want more money from every platform. So it is obvious they are planning something.

That being said, I'm not crazy about remastered Bloodborne. I have so much games on my backlog (or expected future games) that I don't have time to be down about this. If Sony puts a remaster, that's fine by me. If not, that's also fine by me. Like I said, lots of games to dive into.

LHB is pretty commonly regarded as an S-tier weapon, and one that is very user friendly due to how easily the transformed state can lock down even large targets. It also looks very cool to just walk around with, its ornate form slung gingerly over your shoulder, and ever so quickly coming off it to quickly and efficiently carve through your enemies. It inspires confidence. Might be my favorite From weapon ever. It's definitely my most reliable; I can't think of anything else that comes close. Like a lot of other people, I used it as my primary in my BB playthrough.

If I ever play BB again, probably once I upgrade my graphics card, I'm going for the Whirligig Saw. Yeah it's also high tier but maybe it won't feel as much as playing on easy mode (while still being very cool).

How can I be an Arcane cuck from first playthrough?

I've never done Bloodtinge either. Could always try out the Thousand Vistas.

IMO neither are good NG options or worth investing in the softcap for. These archetypes (particularly Arcane) in BB don't run and play the same as other Soulsborne games. They're just baked into the weapons and for boosting Transformations & Abilities (This sounds like there's a lot to it but there's really not). It's something you want to do and is fun in subsequent runs too.

Kos Parasite (Arcane), Holy Moonlight Sword (Arcane - Transformed Attack) and Bloodletter (Bloodtinge) are all weapons you get during the DLC too.

If you really wanted to run Bloodtinge, you could complete Cainhurst early to obtain Evelyn & Chikage (2H Mode). If you're new, guns are actually good for clearing weak mobs and dealing with dogs.

Now that I think about it too, there's an earlier point after beating BSB and unlocking Chalice Dungeons, where you could try looking up Glyphs for early game CDs, that might have weapons available for purchase at baths. This is another thing with Arcane or Bloodtinge builds, you also need to buy or find Lost/Uncanny versions of these, and get the right Blood Gems for them to really pop off.

Also the consumables like the Eye that scale with Arcane and Bloodtinge are largely shit too outside of specific use cases.

Ok so first time thing happened

Got the unopened letter in the throne room in Cainhurst and gave it to Alfred back in the Cathedral Ward.

Then I went and finished Eileen's quest by killing the Hunter in the Grand Cathedral.

Got the Blood Dreg off of the Hunter and went back to Cainhurst, but the queen was killed with a pink lump of flesh on the seat and this Pyramid Head looking dude with a wheel weapon was standing there.

So I killed him thinking I'd get his weapon but he dropped a rune instead.

Can that quest go in any other direction? Is there anything I'm supposed to do with this pink fleshy meat?

Edit: And oh shit the wheel is available to buy. How good is this Logarius Wheel? :messenger_open_mouth:
