interesting that a show with such strong conservative roots gave us the greatest president of all time (real or fake)... and he's a democrat!

I don't know about WANTED HIM TO COME BACK, but I certainly thought that he went out the wrong way. Having him come back as OMG ZOMBIE VILLAIN TONY is beyond stupid, tho.omg rite said:Nope, that's just not true. He's the most liked character after Jack and MANY people wanted him to come back.
Also, the Republican president stages attacks against the country and kills American citizens for "the good of the nation." Hard to take people seriously when they discard this show for having too strong of a conservative agendaPhoenixDark said:Exactly. S2 seems like a liberal's porn fetish: an honest, strong president willing to exhaust every avenue possible before entering war, even in the face of opposition from his own cabinet. It's like the opposite of what happened with Iraq! And that season also included a clever scene between the terrorist dude and the Amad (uhh the guy who was in charge of the mosque) where the guy argues terrorism is not apart of Islam

They also missed the perfect opportunity to get Jack our of LA when we thought Audrey was in China. Jack rampaging through China for 24 hours would have blown away the shlock we got last season. Instead, he spent the off-season in China, and then about a half an episode recovering from months of torture. The season jumped the shark with the nuke, but unlike Season2, they put it in the first few episodes. Last season was doomed to failure. PEACE.
In the winter of 2007 the sixth season of the show premiered to more than 16 million viewers. The season began with Jack emerging from 18 months of captivity and unremitting torture in a Chinese prison.
As President Bush's approval ratings began to sink so did ratings for season six, which ran from January to May 2007, dropping steadily month by month. Fox notes that viewers were increasingly choosing to watch the show on digital recording devices. But some fans also felt the show was retreading old ground, and that the characters had become flat. Undoubtedly "24" was showing its age, as all TV shows do, but the producers believed the public mood was quickening the decline.

Complete opposite for me. If she dies i'll probably stop watching. She is the heart of the show for me (moreso than Jack) and has been my favourite character since her hilarious introduction in season 3.Prime crotch said:If Chloe dies on the next season I'm watching it. How can they kill all the other good characters and keep her.
The first time watching Season 1 was awesome and completely got me hooked into 24. However, after having seen all the seasons a few times, season 1 is pretty horrible. It's basically Kim and Teri getting captured/escaping/captured/escaping about 10 times each.DevelopmentArrested said:1 bad season out of 6 and now the show sucks and is past its prime?
Are people forgetting 24 Season 1,2 and 5 were some of the best TV ever?

Easily more than that.DevelopmentArrested said:Except it's really like 2-3 times each huh.

Plus Tony saving them, Jack at the Compound and at the Docks were still god-like regardless what # escape that was..

Seriously awful article. Season 6 was a mess (with some redeeming moments for me) and attributing the shows overall ratings decline, which is not the slightest bit true, to Bush's approval ratings is completely ridiculous and insulting. 24 has always had non-partisan stance and grew a strong base of viewers because it is a quality action serial. Nothing more. Season 6 quite simply turned off viewers, because of its bad writing.
Season 3 I believe.Teh Hamburglar said:hasnt chloe been there since season 1?

Depends if you like having a conclusion or not.TheGreatDave said:I'd rather have one hundred questions asked and never answered than the same one question asked repeatedly that I already know the answer to. How long can I keep watching a show where all I'm being offered is the chance that a city is blown up or Jack dies?

Season 3 episode 1 to be exact.Teh Hamburglar said:hasnt chloe been there since season 1?
Aside from being completely different types of shows, i totally disagree with you. I have never felt any excitement or danger for characters in Lost because i don't for one second believe the writers have the guts to kill off major (non shitty) characters. Lost's hamfisted way of creating intrigue just doesn't have any appeal to me. It's a total miss mash of genres and it fails at being good at any of them. 24 succeeds, save for season 6, at exactly what it sets out to do.TheGreatDave said:I think I'm personally completely done with the show at this point. DevelopmentArrested said:Pretty much. At least the 24 writers had guts to kill off a lot of characters (particularly Season 5 - almost too much in fact). Lost writers kill off shittily written characters nobody cared about in the first place.I could care less about even the better written characters on Lost now.Niki and Paulo? Gimme a fucking break
omg rite said:Yeah, they never killed off.Charlie, Boone, or Shannon
They shouldn't just fucking kill people off because they have "guts". Horrible writing.
And wow, I think you missed the point of Nikki and Paulo.
All those 3 were terribly written and i laughed my ass off when they died. I agree killing characters for "guts" isn't necessarily a good thing, but making the audience believe that all your favourites are in imminent danger to create tension in what is primarily an action thriller is a good thing.omg rite said:Yeah, they never killed off.Charlie, Boone, or Shannon
