Yay I won one online match with Rachel. Getting a bit better with her. I'm really impressed with a level 17 player who played as her, I got schooled.

Finally got a PS3 LE copy today. I'll probably give it a whirl tomorrow. But I'm completely out of my element with spazz fests like MVC2 and GGXXX. I'll check out the DVD you guys were talking about and play story with everyone to come to grip with the characters. I don't think I'll be double dipping (yet).

Someone send me an invite to the GAFchat on PSN. I want to say I'm friend with quite a few of you.

He says right in the video he isn't into fighting games. Gamespot should have picked someone else to review VF.

The Quicklook of Tatsunoko vs Capcom shared similar problem. Jeff complained it's too weird for his taste.

Fucking love this game. I got my first double down earlier, something I didn't even know could happen till it happened. I'm maining Arakune, and I know I irritated the shit out of a couple people with bees. Started getting my ass kicked near the end of the round, hit them with whatever that thing that attracts bees is, then knocked em out.

Dsgfds! I just found out about this game and I'm in love with it. I got all excited reading about the special pre-order bonuses, but it's out already?! ;_;

I'm in Canada. Is there still any chance I'll be able to get the artbook and the collectors edition stuff? I can't find this game anywhere online.

I just got the Carpal Tunnel achievement(over 25 hours)...thought it would take a lot longer, especially since this is a fighting game and I have never played them in long bursts, but this game is too damn awesome. :p

I still have a lot of the story to go, a few left in arcade, and haven't really sunk much time into online, so I don't even know where the hell all the time went. :lol

Anybody got any tips for getting a 60 combo with v-13? I tried to cheat my way towards it by sticking a non-mobile Tager into an endless drive combo and the game didn't take it. The best one I've gotten legit is just over 40. =/

Getting 100% with characters really opens up the story mode, i plan on getting 100% with all characters before i get the true ending.

I made an EXACT 60 earlier with 236236D, 236236D, Cx8, 2C on a Tager. But by exact it really means every single thing needs to hit, so if by the second 236236D you can tell all of the swords aren't hitting, it won't make it. If both hit right, Tager will be in position to get hit by all 8 blades(again, need all 8 exactly) and then 2C needs to hit him fully as well. It's pretty tricky to time but works in practice, so I would just do what I did and push a Tager into the corner and keep doing it until you nail it. Also, the numbers can't darken either(only seemed to darken for me if the second 236236D messed up, so I don't think it's an issue).

Speaking of that, I can't get the Hakumen 10K combo to work. I've made ~11K a few times, but the combo number darkens so it doesn't seem to count, so if anyone knows a "legit" combo for that, I'd appreciate it. =)

Jesus fucking christ I just spent nearly an hour on arcade mode trying to beat V-13 with Arakune. The most frustrating thing I've had to do the entire game.

I had issues with her too, I'm not good with Arakune anyway--but it's like you need to be a master of him to beat the last fight, lol. I actually backed out and changed rounds to one because I can usually win the first one, but V-13 goes into batshit mode for rounds 2 and 3.

I went through it earlier as Tager and surprisingly had no issues even though I expected the worst, though I might be jaded after doing score attack because unlimited ragna was the most frustrating thing imaginable.

How do you open up more tips stuff in the story section?

I randomly unlocked episode 2 while doing story mode and unlocked episode 3 by watching that so I assume that's how the rest unlock.

Yeah I just got so frustrated and ended up spamming a cheap combo (throw + 236236C) a few times and that mostly did it.. the problem was just pulling it off, since it was so hard getting even remotely close to her. It's probably just me sucking with Arakune but I certainly hate that matchup now.

Also found this arakune flowchart I thought was pretty funny :lol

For some reason, I hadn't heard anything about this game until it was actually released. I'm really interested in it and I'm probably gonna at least rent it, but I have some questions.

Overall, does it seem somewhat balanced? Is any character abused in online modes or anything like that? Also, how good is the online working for people? Good matchmaking, low lag, etc.?

The art style is intriguing to me, and this is coming from a guy who usually doesn't watch anime. This game looks really really good!

The online for BlazBlue is the best I've ever seen in a fighting game. 6 person lobbies, spectators, can save replays, can get into games quickly, and the actual fighting is great, barely any lag at all.

The game is well balanced, there's one character (v-13) who many say is the strongest but I actually haven't run into that many online, I've come across a pretty good variety. Got an achievement for facing every character online pretty quickly in fact.

Damn, looks like replays that were saved before the patch don't work post patch (talking about PS3 version).
Says, "Replay is not available, game version does not match."

sucks :(

I don't get it, I've scored over 10,000 points of damage with Hakumen (10130 pts. to be exact) like 9 times and I still can't get the "It's over 10,000" trophy.....I don't know what else to do.

6-man lobbies with spectator-mode? Sounds wonderful! I can't wait for next week...

It really is amazing, god I hope devs start to gravitate towards this type of online 1v1 just doesn't have the legs a lobby does.

Honestly, the Japanese are claiming with their matchup listing that the game isn't as balanced as SF4. It's probably as imbalanced as 3S, where 2 characters (Arakune and Nu) flat out dominate.

It's sad that last week we had to choose between great fighter and shittiest port of this gen, or average fighter and best port ever for a fighting game

BB, as it stands now, is pretty average I think as a competitive game. Arc will improve it though at some point.

I was too late on my pre-order and there weren't enough copies to cover for me at my EB.

Canada has received a low shippment, looks like I am on the waiting list

I don't know. I generally haven't seen huge disparities in the character rankings that so many people seem to be talking about. Heck, my main; alt, and main-alt are all the lowest tier characters; Hakumen, Tager, and Bang. Despite this, I tend to do well against Nu and Arakune. Against Nu, all I have to do is take advantage of her deadzones with Bang. Bang can exploit Nu like there is no tomorrow. And I can withstand teh bees with Tager. I just think character dynamics in this game are pretty fleshed out, and I don't have too much problem with low tier characters like I did with El Fuerte in SF4.

The problem with that is the level that most of us is facing right now is real low compared to what Japanese tournies are at, so our experiences are not really statistically relevant.

For example: if you took GAF SFIV tourney results is a tier listing- Rose would be top tier, and Sagat near the bottom. We all know that ain't the case.

Dark as in disappeared? No, I have the combo go all the way through, I actually used that video to do it and I have it down perfectly it's a 7 hit combo and hits for 10,130 pts. of damage....It won't register.

By "dark" he means the numbers go dim. Sort of a dark blood red instead of bright red. It's a very noticeable difference.

ggs games last night to: ferrio, Akachan, Kiryogi, Prototype.

all great players, had some great matches as well, pretty tense.

still trying to improve my game, will continue to work.

Maybe. But if we're not Japanese tourney players, why are we worried about this at all?

I'll have to check it out. I hadn't noticed any difference, but that's probably what it is.

Oy. Fought some crazy Ragna who was pretty good, but he kept BB'ing at the start of every match nearly, so I'd usually always catch him in a wake-up DD easily with Noel and beat him. Yeesh!

Damnit I want to play this so bad but I just bought a brand new plasma and I'm running slides to break in the phosphors. Played for like an hour last night and had a small bit of temporary image retention that I don't want to repeat.

I just tried my first online match. Took me forever to get in a room. Everything was "match already started" or something like that. Also, most of the connections showed blue (idk what that means as it's not in the manual).

Anyway, I eventually got into a room, didn't know what to do so I pushed "A" and a match started. I lost to some guy who picked the main character. I picked the chick with the guns and lost a close match. From playing the training mode, story mode (twice), arcade mode(once) I'd say the game is pretty good. The visuals are solid if not spectacular, the music is cool and there are a lot of interesting little touches.

That said, I think it will be a long time before I play another random person. It wasn't much fun not knowing what was going on, lol.

Because the best among us will approach that level, then get stomped down by the tierwhoring. Also, the internet makes it easier to copy strats, and overpowered strats tend to not require much brainwork, making them scrub-friendly.
