nah im good.

releasing lightgun games without a proper lightgun, that sums up the game industry in a nutshell.... who the hell would play this without a lightgun!
And its not like they could develop a really cheap and very accurate lightgun for current oled panels, its just that they dont want to. too niche.
Yep, they need a lightgun peripheral like the ones that exist for PC emulation. What’s the point otherwise?

No gun, a what’s the point?
I would pay extra if it came with a gun. I feel like House of the Dead 2: Remake will actually have a better fun experience on the player if it came with a gun. That what made the arcades back in days so fun to play with friends or by yourself.

Lightgun gaming on a pc has been available for years. It's easy to set up, loads of different choices now. I just got a couple of the new Retro Shooter guns and had them configured for all my emulators in about 15 minutes.

I thought the first remake was ok, this looks about the same, I'll be buying it for sure on pc, it's a no brainier if you're into lightgun games because (hopefully ) like the first game it will retain the pacing. It's just a graphics swap. That amazing Sega arcade DNA is still evident. No point buying it on consoles though.

The House of the Dead games are defined by their very specific blood, gore and bullet hole effects on enemies.

Why have they made zero attempt to recreate those effects?

I mean it's significant enough to the series that I wonder why you'd even bother recreating these games without it.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
It's like people have no idea how to use the internet anymore
This gyro crap are even worse than Wii which was just about passable/acceptable in 2006 for bringing some of these games back, stop pretending they're any good or anywhere near a real lightgun (or the modern PC lightguns which are good but all of them expensive for the usability), thanks 🤦‍♂️

The shots are going nowhere near where he's pointing even in that shitty video and as he constantly recalibrates it to recenter the cursor that instantly drifts way off the actual aim. Gyro is fine for FPS games supplementing analog stick controls, this lightgun usage is just not what it's any good for.

Especially for a game that has the fun in getting better at aiming as you keep replaying it to score better, or finish it with less continues. Maybe it would be passable for games like L.A. Machineguns that had always-on cursors and weren't about accuracy even in their arcade iterations, not for this.

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
If you can even get that thing working. I was going to buy one of those until I read the horror stories of people unable to set it up or get it working apparently the software is beyond horrible.

Of course we can even get that thing working. We ain't on consoles where light gun doesn't work well on PS5 Pro

If coded correctly gyro/motion controls can be just as fun or accurate.
It's not the exact same tech but it get's the job done and is 1000% better than using a control stick as an option.

Not sure what your problem is, just showing that there IS a decent solution on Switch (compared to ass analog). Unless Switch itself is the problem..?

For on-rails, light gun style games? Yes they are
They're not though. Again, even in your videos the aim is nowhere near where he points. These people don't know what they're talking about, much like you, but at least they play with crosshair on showing how off the "aim" is.

It's more like a mouse than a lightgun. Being somewhat better than the shittiest method of control for these games (analog stick, lol) doesn't make it actually good or like a lightgun which was your claim that it's "as accurate".

I explained myself perfectly in my first comment, Idk what more you want or why you keep challenging this fact and this reality we live in where the laws of physics don't allow mere gyro sensors to function like a real lightgun.

Have your fun all you want with them, I've had my fun with Wii remotes for such games (again, those that aren't about accuracy and with better results than gyro), just don't say bullshit like it's matching lightguns on any level.

Couple that with how mediocre these remakes have been and it's nothing but a sad caricature of the real deal (or actually good emulation of the tech and gameplay with stuff like modern PC lightguns or decent VR systems).

Looks awful, the artistic style doesnt fit at all with the original.

Companies should stop hiring cheap studios when making important remakes like this one.
