His voice pulled me completely out of Hellblade 2. He's a talented voice actor, of course, but his in too much stuff. Even varying accent and delivery, there's only so much I can take.

I feel the same way. I'm slightly annoyed that he's in Indy in Indiana Jones because it sounds like Baker doing a bad Harrison Ford impression. There's probably a VA out there would could nail Ford perfectly, like that kid they found for the old Telltale BTTF game.

So glad I never cared about voice acting. People get really invested in it, especially when you hear of the actors being creeps towards people who should have had zero contact with them or boycotting games because it's changed.

It's probably the number one thing on the internet that get's me thinking "huh, that's what people are interested in?"

Is super weird reading about "Naughty Dog's new game", sounds like almost a decade they created something. I know they have the capabilities of wowing people, but is being too long for it. Sometimes I wonder why don't this big developers release smaller games to accompany their big games so that they can experiment in new genres / styles and if they find out a new thing then they can invest more heavily into it. This would reduce a little bit the risk of releasing such big projects every 7 years or so.

He's among the most talented at being Troy Baker. That's fitting for a lot of VA roles. I'm not sure he's exactly versatile.

Aside from that, North was like the Troy Baker of the 360 days. So many fucking games with that guy in it.

Then you probably just haven’t played a lot of games with him in it, or you didn’t realize it was him, because while there are plenty where he just sounds like himself, there’s so many where he doesn’t sound like himself at all, richtofen for cod, the penguin from archam city, modi from god of war, to name a few.

"Smaller games" are no small anymore, it takes several years to make them and at the level of quality ND does.

Sadly won't happen, but a TLOU with Joel as main character is the only new TLOU game I want.

You joke but I played a game a while ago, 'The Pathless' -- excellent game by the way -- but there's only two voiced characters in it, neither of them speak a real language just random ethereal sounds, and very little of that dialogue. I actually LOL when the credits said "Voice by Troy Baker and Laura Bailey".
