If you want to replace two screens, you really should be looking at super ultrawide (32:9) otherwise you'll be sacrificing screen real estate.
The problem with recommending any of these are that a) they're usually curved, since they're physically larger and need a way to anchor the gravity and b) they're relatively new and not exactly "budget friendly". On the low end you have something like this that is 1080p / 32:9
and on the high end something like the Samsung OLED
If you don't mind giving up some screen real estate, you could go with 21:9 monitor. These have been around a lot longer and iit'seasier to find ones that aren't curved. For example this one is a 1080p / 21:9 monitor for an extremely low cost:
Even going up to 34 inch, 21:9, 1440p isn't too hard on the budget if you don't mind an LED panel that doesn't have all the gaming bells and whistles such as this one:
There's a huge range of products to choose from, it really just depends on what your looking for and what your budget actually is.
Also - you sound like me when I got my first ultrawide back in 2017. "I won't use it much for gaming, this will be mostly work related stuff", and then once I actually tried gaming on it I was hooked. In my opinion, it's one of the best gaming upgrades - and one that makes PC easily stand above console gaming for me now.
